Ratings and reviews

Rated 5 out of5 by fromJust amazing! My job as a programmer/system administrator has given me the chance of experiencing many different computers. This is a solid machine, with great build quality and amazing display. Its overall setup (CPU, RAM, etc.) makes it very responsive. If you want a portable computer that handle any task (gaming and heavy computing aside), I highly recommend this. On top of all, it is cheaper that other laptops in the same category. The only thing that would have made it perfect, would have been an SSD instead of the HDD.

Rated 3 out of5 by fromAverageThought I'd give back with this review. I ended up returning the laptop because of one major flaw..When connected via hdmi to my 2560x1440 Ben Q monitor, the maximum resolution I could get was only 1080...I checked every possible scenario to no avail..graphic drivers..etc...when connected to other laptops I had no problem getting the maximum resolution out of my monitor. I also didn't like the cheap plastic feel of the laptop as well... the track pad was jumpy as well. Screen and no bloat software was a plus.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromReally enjoying so far!Picked this up on sale for $599 CDN off the online Microsoft Store and have been using it pretty heavily for a day. As jackie2789 mentioned, the trackpad leaves a little bit to be desired. Unfortunately she forgets this laptop sells for well under the price point of a MacBook Pro, especially those equipped with Retina displays and new Iris graphics. I think for the price point I got this laptop at and taking into consideration the build quality/features the Transformer Flip Book offers it deserves a 5/5.

Rated 3 out of5 by fromDefinitely not on par with MBP/MBAIf you say this laptop can replace MBP, I would say you've never owned MBP before, ever. This laptop's touchpad never gives you the comfort what MBP's touchpad does. It's not just a CPU vs CPU, or a RAM vs RAM. I was thinking to replace my old 2009 MBP with this Asus laptop, but it does not give me the pleasure as what my old MBP does in overall experiences. This is not a bad laptop for the price, but not on a same level with MBP. That's so, I would give 'Average Rating' for this laptop.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromFast, thin, light and good design.I bought this laptop on sale with a student discount. The performance was great and was very simple to use. Although when I bought this laptop I had a problem with the top keys like the brightness and the volume keys because they were not working/ responding but after a long research I realized that I just have to install a drive and now it works perfectly fine (just a little bit disappointed because it should have been installed already). It's very affordable and yet it provides an excellent performance even you're multitasking. The design is good, I like the idea of 360 degree flip. The track pad is accurate and the keyboard is good. However it is very susceptible to fingerprint. But over all this is a great device and I would highly recommend this especially if you are looking for a cheaper laptop that could still provide an excellent speed and performance for your daily work.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromMac book pro duo = asus tp 300This is my first asus and first 13" laptop after owning 4 15" laptops, I got the 15" asus transformer at first but with the features its capable of doing I replaced it with 13" better size weight performance and what not most importantly better performance than Mac book pro for $700 not regretting at all for owning this matter piece from asus thanks to Microsoft online store for an awesome deal....

Rated 5 out of5 by fromExcellent laptopI bought the Asus TP300LA when on sale for $599, nothing else spec-wise comes close. Screen color and resolution are very good; photo-editing is very accurate. Win 8.1 runs great as do my heavier programs. No bloatware installed, just some Asus utilities that are useful. Build quality is better than I expected. No complaints.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromExcellent buildFor this price and for the things you get, I have no regrets. I purchased this laptop and stress tested this machine and passed all expectations except hard drive speed. Although 500GB with no SSD may be considered slow, Windows 8.1 boot makes up for it as it boots up in 15 seconds even with all my programs installed.
