Installation and FAQ

How do I install Office?

After purchase, you can install Office at www.office.com/myaccount. For more information, see the FAQ.

What's the difference between Office 365 plans and Office 2016 suites?

Office 365 plans include the complete suite of Office applications, plus other services that are enabled over the Internet, including extra cloud storage with OneDrive and Skype minutes for home use. With Office 365 you get the full, installed Office experience on PCs, Macs, tablets (including Windows, iPad, and Android) and smartphones. Office 365 plans are available as a monthly or annual subscription. With Office 365, upgrades are always included with your subscription.

Office 2016 suites, including Office Home & Student and Home & Business, include applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote; they are available as a one-time purchase for use on a single PC or Mac. The applications are not automatically updated; to get the latest version, you must purchase Office again when the new version becomes available.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromBetter than best!As a person who is used to using the MS Office in a Windows platform, I had my hesitations. I just migrated to an OS X platform, and it takes getting used to, surprisingly, I didn't have to struggle with switching habits on this new and improved Office Suite for Mac. Great product!

Rated 2 out of5 by fromMuch frustrationBought 2 weeks ago and have thought about returning it and going back to Word 2011. Many useful 2011 features not available, such as customized tool bars, integration with Endnote, comments and track changes that you can't accept/delete without gain back to the toolbar, etc.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromDisappointingExcel is really not up to par. There is a huge difference between Windows Excel and Mac Excel for some key features. Please work hard to resolve this issues soon

Rated 2 out of5 by fromThis product is much harder to use.I had 2004 and it was much easier to use than the 2016. Simple word processing is okay but text boxes, manipulating pics and using word art are ridiculously difficult. There are fewer options and each takes many more steps.

Rated 3 out of5 by fromMicrosoft - Office Home & Student 2016 for MacThe product is excellent, except for one major flaw. The problem is that there is no "Insert Object: Equation" option in Word for Mac. This creates a big problem for me because I can not edit equations written in Word for Windows. I can not input equations in Word for Mac. Thus, documents become not portable between my office Windows machine and my home office Mac. Speedy resolution of this problem through update will be gratefully appreciated.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromMS Office for MacI bought this a month ago knowing from previous experience that the compatibility with Mac is excellent. This version is great too. It matches and exceeds the previous version of MS Office for Mac. It's great for the office related things that I use it for. It's also light years ahead of Office 365. Absolutely no regrets here!
