Free Recycling

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and waste batteries must never be placed in any of your household wheelie bins.

WEEE is taken back free of charge at electrical retail outlets on a one-for-one like-for-like basis. There is a container for small waste batteries in your local store. You are not obliged to make any purchase when returning old batteries at your local store.

Local authority civic amenity facilities also take back WEEE and waste batteries free of charge. WEEE and waste battery recycling is free.

Microsoft will also take back old product (WEEE), free of charge, on a one for one equivalent basis within 30 days of delivery by Microsoft, for example, an old keyboard will be taken back where a new keyboard has been purchased.

The customer accepts that he has full responsibility for removing all data from WEEE presented to Microsoft or any designated third parties. The customer should where possible remove and damage beyond use any removable media such as hard drives modules, flash drives, etc. Customer acknowledges once WEEE has been taken back, Microsoft or its designated third parties cannot return it as the WEEE will have entered take back and recycling processes. The customer accepts that participation in this Microsoft take back program constitutes a relinquishment of all rights to and in the electrical and electronic equipment and other related material and that these terms and conditions form part of the sales contract between the customer and Microsoft.
