Overview

Campus legend

From keeping you organised to helping you take insane notes, the versatile Surface Pro 3 makes life at school a breeze. With a 12-inch Full HD touchscreen and the versatility to be used either as a laptop or tablet, it's the perfect device for schoolwork and play. Plus, it's super-slim and feather-light—only 0.63 inches thin and 800 gs — so it won't slow you down when you're on the go.

Note-worthy

Taking notes has never been this easy. Or fun. Type notes just like you would on a laptop, or handwrite them as naturally as you would on paper with the included pressure-sensitive Surface Pen. With a keyboard that folds back, Surface was designed to feel like a notebook in your hand. Use OneNote as your digital notebook and easily share your notes with classmates. You can even record lectures with the rear-facing 5MP camera while you type on the split screen.

Up all night

Surface Pro 3 stays charged for those all-night cram sessions. You might be wired, but it doesn't have to be. It's also great for those jam-packed days of back-to-back classes when you don't have time to plug in. And when it's time for some entertainment, you'll have plenty of juice for cranking tunes and playing games for hours on end.

Unleash your creativity

Make it your mobile drawing studio. Use it to create movies. Design the next architectural masterpiece. Highlight PDFs directly on screen with the Drawboard app from the Windows Store. It's got the muscle to run heavy-duty creative programs like AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud, and many more. If you can dream it, you can build it with Surface Pro 3.

All work? No way.

Have an hour free between classes? Entertain yourself with apps from the Windows Store. There are thousands to choose from. Surface Pro 3 is also great for playing games, streaming TV shows and movies, and Skyping with family and friends back home.

Ratings and Reviews

Rated 5 out of5 by fromFills the role of tablet and pc with style! This excellent tablet has been extremely useful for my work and home needs. It is fast and the battery lasts for a day of full use.Be aware that being a computer rather than just a tablet there are some disadvantages such as, you need to make sure it's up to date and devices you connect will want to install drivers etc unlike a tablet like an iPad where the software is fairly indestructible. This is outweighed by the advantages in my opinion. You can install full versions of software such as Microsoft office, business management software and media editting. You can attach an external hard drive or other USB device. Other great features are true multi tasking and the best interface I have encountered on a tablet. The pen is accurate and easy to use, and pressure sensitive so your writing and drawing is natural. Also the screen detects 95% of the time if you are resting your hand on the screen or are actually using gestures which avoid ls unwanted clicking or scrolling.Although I give it a five star rating based on my experience I am finding i would prefer one with a larger storage drive. Because it is so much more useful than a Android or iOS tablet you will probably find lots of ways to use all that space. As a side note you may want to look at the surface pro 4 which we could probably get away with calling the surface pro 3.5 a refinement of an already excellent product.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromExpensive, but a good performer.I bought two Surface Pro 3 units, an i5 and an i7, and have been very impressed with them. I've only owned them for a fortnight but have been a heavy user in that short time. I also bought the type covers and a docking station and 27" monitor. A similar spec laptop is cheaper, but for the convenience I'd still recommend the Surface Pro 3.Prices are down at the moment, likely due to the impending release of the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book, so the Surface Pro 3 is a good option. My only negative comments would be1) it is difficult to type whilst placing the unit on your lap. I'm 182cm tall and my thighs aren't long enough to hold the keyboard and tablet. This isn't a show stopper for me, but may become a serious issue for the more mobile user.2) the mini display port is angled, which means a generic adapter/cable will likely keep disconnecting due to the physical shape of the port surround. Microsoft do sell an adapter though, so it just means you need to buy their official one instead of a generic one. Again, not a show stopper as their adapter is a comparable price to other quality adapters. All in all its been a very good unit up to now and I would recommend to anyone looking for portability but without the reliance on having the unit on your lap whilst working.
