Rated 1 out of5 by fromVery FaultyThe first charger I received when I bought my Surface broke under a year. To be fair, it was exchanged completely free of charge but now this one has broke as well. Seeing as the Surface can not be charged through any other means, this is pretty inconvenient to say the least. This product makes something as necessary as charging your Surface a huge liability.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromPoor product!I have had the surface for a year and have had a few problems with it and now the wire has to be replaced....Its split just below the magnetic head. Unfortunately, i have no other choice and have to purchase a new wire. The design is poor...the wire has split because of the way its sits when attached to the surface. It also makes a high pitched noise and doesn't charge until you fiddle about with the wire. I do regret buying this product and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromPoor Design!I bought my surface just over a year ago now and I have had multiple issues with the charger, none of which were good enough reasons or reasons that could be fixed by replacing the charger itself! The charger has been designed so when on a flat surface the charger is almost forced to create a 90 degree angle between it and the surface, it is basic knowledge to know not to create any sort of sharp corners in a wire to prevent breaking the wires inside!Secondly whoever thought it would be a good idea to make a magnetic charger should not be working for someone like Microsoft, there is a reason that no other company uses this, the reason being it is stupid. There are so many more issues with having a magnetic charger to having a simple slot in charger, my main issue being that I have to constantly clean the charger because anything that is even slightly magnetic sticks to it, for eg. I can't keep it in my school bag because the graphite from my pencils gets stuck in it!Microsoft needs to rethink their charger idea and not expect people to pay £35 for a piece of rubbish that will last you a year if you are lucky!

Rated 1 out of5 by fromReplace our chargersI've had my Surface for two years now and I love it. Unfortunately, my third charger has now broken. It is always the same problem, breaking at the wire to magnetic strip join. They are not cheap to replace, so disappointed. Man up Microsoft, admit it was a mistake, come up with a replacement and offer them free of charge. Lets face it, you've made a huge profit from us.

Rated 3 out of5 by fromGood and badI've had the Surface Pro 2 for about 9 months. I like the idea of the magnetic connection and have no problem with this. However, I agree with above where the position of the charging point is stupid, if further up the device it would be so much better.I am having a slight problem with the connection to the "transformer" or whatever the box is not sure if this will keep the supply running.

Rated 3 out of5 by fromDoes the jobGood quality, mine's lasted over two years without a problem. Some basic design faults, eg can be fiddly, and I wish it was combustible with usb as my wife's iPad mini is. I need to replace simply because I put mine somewhere' safe' and now can't find it.

Rated 2 out of5 by fromBroke after 1 year and 20 daysAfter having this item for 1 year and 20 days and being only 20 days out of warranty the cable is no longer working. It emits a high pitch noise that escalates and no power goes tot he surface. Unfortunately I have no other option but to buy another one.
