Games and entertainment

Games plus entertainment

With the best games, TV, movies, music and sports all in one place, you don’t have to compromise. Switch instantly from one to another, or enjoy two at once, so you never miss a moment. And talk with family and friends on Skype while watching TV (Kinect sensor required, sold separately).2

The best games

Xbox One was built by gamers, for gamers. The perfect balance of power and performance, Xbox One takes gaming to a whole new level. Stunning realism. Advanced AI that adapts to the way you play. And a new generation of multiplayer that is both smarter and faster. Xbox One is simply the best gaming console we’ve ever made.

The all-in-one entertainment system

Do two things at once

Why choose between two things you love when you can do both at the same time? Xbox One lets you quickly jump from TV to a movie to a game. And then snap them side by side to do two things simultaneously. Music and games. Skype voice calls and live sports. Split your screen, not your time.

Ratings and reviews

Rated 3 out of5 by fromSigning out issuesI've had my xbox one since November 2014, I love xbox and I've been with it for 3-4 years now, but my xbox one has had some issues, main issue is when I'm playing a game and I get signed out for no reason I don't know if I've been hacked or if its a bug but I cant enjoy games anymore due to this issue. I have to put my security up to max to stop it which is annoying. Also my game will stop working and just return to the xbox home for no reason as if I just started the xbox, I find this very annoying.

Rated 5 out of5 by from360 to One, the obvious choice...I got my Xbox One on Day One, yes I'm a fanboy. However, I'm not just a blindly following fanboy. I had the PS1, who didn't. It changed the world. After that came the PS2, and the original Xbox. I preferred everything about the Xbox and so the PS2 went. So, when it came to the next generation, I went for the Xbox 360 and loved it. However, the opportunity arose to have a PS3 and I took it. Although a good console, it wasn't a patch on the 360. And so it was bye, bye Sony. Now we move onto the new generation consoles and there was only ONE choice for me. I haven't been disappointed. Love the One (and only) console. It's been a year now and I'm still loving it. I'm looking forward to the next year and all the others that follow. So, pick the One. You won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromDon't believe the Hype... XBOX ONE Rocks!First of all, let me tell you that I have been a gamer since the days of the ZX Spectrum 48k in the early eighties. I have grown up with the old school battles between Commodore & Atari, Sega & Nintendo etc. Now we have PS4 vs XB1. I am surprised at how many people bring this console down. The PS4 might have slightly better specs but in general, you won't notice much difference in the graphics & performance if you ran them side by side. Over the last few months I have played Destiny, Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon 2 and Halo on XB1 and they beat anything that I have seen released on PS4 to date. Forza Horizon 2 is much better than Driveclub. Sony may fool a lot of people out there but a true gamer will see through all that and choose the console that can impress with the 1st party titles. At the moment, this is XBOX ONE!!

Rated 4 out of5 by fromXbox One ReviewIt has certainly improved over the last 12 months. I did purchase it more as a entertainment device and I've been a little disappointed at the range of apps so far. If it is running a Windows 8 engineer I would like to see more of these apps available. BBC iPlayer and Sky Go are obvious examples but I'd like to see other apps like Spotify, Tunein Radio etc. They would certain help Microsoft achieve their aim of making it the main entertainment hub of the home.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromThis is the Future!I brought my xbox one when it launched and since then the xbox has been updated with loads of new features and now has plenty of new games to play, the reason I decided to go with the xbox one over the ps4 at launch is that I felt like the xbox one provided more value and features for my money and was better placed for the future, my xbox one has proven to me that my decision is right with the best exclusive games and monthly updates packed with new features!

Rated 4 out of5 by fromClass leaderExcellent multifunction box started strongly and has been improving through the year with each regular update. I use it more for accessing media services such as Amazon Prime Instant Video and Netflix than playing games. It is also great for viewing photos and videos uploaded to OneDrive. The integration with Smartglass and the availability of the app on all platforms is innovative and useful.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromthe center of home entertainmentI have owned the Xbox one for a year now. It has been great for music, games, video and more. I am really pleased with it. It is a great piece of kit. For me what stops it getting a 5 stars is I had some problems with TV box sets or series where the streaming was not always good, movies were fine. If they can sort out the intermittent issues with TV programmes I would give top marks.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromAwesome graphicsI think this is the best console to date ! I purchase about 8months ago and I've been happy with this console from the start, the graphics are outstanding (some games actually make you take a second look as they look real) then controller holds well in the palm of your hand and not to mention the konnext picks you up remarkabley well even the voice activation works brilliantly. The only draw backs so far are that the Xbox one isn't backwards compatible and you can't play your games until they have downloaded to the Xbox and if your like me you just want to play them straight away But...... Don't let this put you off as any games played priveiusly for example GTA 5 mine craft and other great titles you do get a discounted price to play them on XBox one overall I've rated Xbox one 5 stars as I wouldn't feel it would be fair to rate it less.Well done Microsoft for bringing this console out and into my home
