Rated 1 out of5 by fromCan't install updatesI bought this PC with Windows 8. Have installed the update, so now runs 8.1. However, I can no longer install ANY updates to anything. My available important updates is over a GB but can't install them. How do I get help without being charged by the second? The fault is not mine!

Rated 4 out of5 by fromIt is stable and fast and stays that way.If you have windows 7 stay with it as you won't get good value for money from the update but overall I have had a very good experience with Windows 8.1, admittedly the new start screen and app store get no love from me as I am only running windows on my desktop sans touch screen where they are useless, but cosmetic issues aside I consider the core OS to be a worthy successor to windows 7 as for example Multi display/desktop support is much improved over windows 7.Most of the bickering surrounding the interface paradigm shift remind me of the who-ha the switch from windows 3.1 to Windows 95 caused.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromThe most easy and fun to use OS.I installed Windows 8.1 from Windows 7 via. download. The backup disc is on the way.Having had to start again with my computer, as soon as I restoredmy computer back to its original speed, I installed Windows 8.1To my excitement, it worked lovely, a fun setup process with myMicrosoft account and finding my way around Windows 8.1 isthat easy and fun, I just can't keep off my computer.Everything has it's own little window and place, so when you lunchan APP, you are working with that APP and lunch another APP, placemouse at left top corner of screen and WOW,, there are all the APPsyou're working with, just close any or work with any as you wish.If you are wondering whether to upgrade to Windows 8.1upgrade to fresh installation, DO IT, go and installWindows 8.1You will find it to be the best operating system, sinceoperating systems began.Plus the value is perfect, I paid £99.99 and that is perfect forwhat I got, no problems to report, it even accepted myGraphics driver.I surely hope this review has helped you make up your mind.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromNot Greathad lots of problems with this OS, has to get rid of a bunch of bloatware before I did anything, and even then the settings were all out of place. I had to disable a lot of updates for a bunch of the metro apps, I mean why have an app for the weather when I can just google it? If this came with just the core OS and nothing else my complaints would be less.
