Easy custom database applications

Access is now much more than a way to create desktop databases. It’s an easy-to-use tool for quickly creating browser-based database applications that help you run your business. Your data is automatically stored in a SQL database, so it’s more secure and scalable than ever, and you can easily share your applications with colleagues.

Create custom apps fast

App Templates. Easily get started by creating a custom app or get inspired by a collection of new and professionally designed app templates.

Table templates. Know what you would like to track with your custom app? Simply start typing it in the “Add tables” textbox and then choose from relevant tables to quickly define fields, relationships, and rules between them. You will have a new app running in minutes.

Experience apps that are easy to use

Related items control. Users can take a peek at additional relevant information in the database without changing screens, so they have the right context when reviewing or entering information.

Autocomplete control. Entering data is now much easier and less error-prone for app users with drop downs and recommendations made upon beginning to type in data. Lookups allow for drawing relationships between records in different tables.

Share your data and control access

Apps for SharePoint deployment. With Access Services and SharePoint Online or On-Prem SharePoint Server 2013, Access apps can now be easily managed and monitored through a company SharePoint site in a browser.

Data stored in SQL. The backend has been moved to SQL Server and Windows Azure SQL Database to allow for added reliability, robust security, scalability and long-term manageability.

Multi-touch

A touch-enabled device is required to use any multi-touch functionality. However, all features and functionality are always available by using a keyboard, mouse, or other standard or accessible input device. Note that new touch features are optimised for use with Windows 8.

Additional System Requirements

Some functionality may vary, based on the system configuration. Some features may require additional or advanced hardware or server connectivity.

Microsoft account required.

Note:   System requirements are rounded up to the nearest 0.5 GB, to be conservative. For example, if we measure an application’s required hard disk space to be 1.99 GB, we recommend 2.5 GB of disk space. Our hard disk system requirements are intentionally larger than the actual disk space usage of the software.

A graphics processor helps increase the performance of certain features, such as drawing tables in Excel 2013 or transitions, animations, and video integration in PowerPoint 2013. Use of a graphics processor with Office 2013 requires a Microsoft DirectX 10-compliant graphics processor that has 64 MB of video memory. These processors were widely available in 2007. Most computers that are available today include a graphics processor that meets or exceeds this standard. However, if you or your users do not have a graphics processor, you can still run Office 2013.

Ratings and reviews

Rated 5 out of5 by fromCollege students need to make a little effort.I see a number of reviews of the product that have nothing to do with the product, but rather what they have to pay for it, or what packages it is or isn't in. Do a little research, read the box. Several are supposedly college students. Take a look at Office 365 University (here is the link since it may be asking to much for you to search for it, http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Office-365-University/productID.275549300) This is a license for a full suite of Office, including Access and Publisher, and web storage, plus other stuff, for $80 for a 4 (four) year license, for 2 (two) devices, like a desktop AND a laptop. Make an effort folks. You'll need to, to make through college.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromDispleasureI bought the Office & Student 2013 and only now find out that it has no access... why should I pay another 110 dollars for this product when I just need it for classes and only a few select ones at that. It should have been included in Office & Student, not sold somewhere else. Now I have to look into a subscription for features on a different suite that the only reason why I am doing this is to get access. I literally do not need 99% of other the other features. Make this part of Office & Student or make it a low subscription fee.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromMicrosoft Does It Again! This is the best version of Access yet! I've been an Access Db developer since Access 1997 came out and this is the best one. The ease of use, the way you can customize your graphical interface and the robust VBA. It's the total package and for the price you can't beat it. This is the most powerful and easiest to use personal DBMS out there. GET IT!

Rated 1 out of5 by fromfrustrating experienceI didn't get the email to download the product after placing my order. The support line is closed, and I needed this early to work at the airport. I will be on a plane by the time support opens. I had to call an agent to place this order because the online ordering feature was not working for me.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromNot the best priceThis software applications are mainly used by business and students, and I think the price is just unaffordable for students. I think there should be some sort of consideration or discount for students. The features of the software are great, but price is way too high.....
