Ratings and reviews

Rated 5 out of5 by fromPerfectI have always bought Windows PCs and i already have HP and Dell Window 8.1 Desktops, a Acer Windows 8.1 Laptop so therefore making my own PC was something i had come to learn to do and using this software at such a low price for student is perfect.Built my PC, bought this, flashed it to a USB Drive, installed it on my new PC with an SSD which makes it soo much quicker and came out like i had bought it from a store.I has to ask customer service if this is the retail version as it felt too good to be true yet it is the original retail Windows 8.1 Pro but make cheaper fro students.Highly recommended

Rated 5 out of5 by fromTook Me By SurpriseI've heard and read a lot of people slating Windows 8 in favour of Windows 7. Don't believe them, I used to think W7 was better but once you get past the alien interface of W8 therein lurks a sleek, stable and fast OS.Seriously the boot time of this thing puts W7 to shame, from when I press the power button to when I log in W8 is at least twice as fast as W7 when using my bog-standard Dell laptop. It's just as fast navigating through the admittedly dense layers of menus, but once you get used to it it is a breeze to sail though. I wanted to hate Windows 8, like all the kool kids, but it's won me over, I must admit. If you've got a laptop then I would say Windows 8 is preferable to 7.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromNo .iso fileThere is no downloadable .iso file and i do not own a computer that runs Windows so i am unable to create a bootable iso myself. I am now left with a £50 OS that is completely useless

Rated 5 out of5 by fromNever going back!Running Windows 8.1 for almost a year, I was sceptical at first with or the reviews talking about the new start menu. But its by far the best thing ever to happen to Windows. Its simple clean and easy to organise. Takes about a 1 week to get used to but once you break into it, its a delight to use and you will never go back!

Rated 5 out of5 by fromMicrosoft Wins My RespectFinally Microsoft have realised that using a PC should be pleasurable! If you want to install on a different PC, no worries. This program downloads Windows, unpacks it, then you can burn it to a blank DVD (or use a USB flash drive, if it's big enough).Windows 8.1 is so swish and you are well rewarded if you take the plunge.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromTakes some getting used tooThis is a really good deal for a full pro copy of windows. I used it to fresh install on a new build PC and it worked great. The new start screen takes some getting used to but after a while you really notice how much you really don't need to use it.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromBest version yet8.1 is the best version yet. Ignore all the moaners about the start menu and complaining it's hard to use. Once you get used to it it's the easiest version to use it just takes a day or 2 to adjust to the new way.
