Ratings and reviews

Rated 5 out of5 by fromThis is my only technology addiction.I have been using Xbox Music since it was a "Zune Music Pass" and I simply can not live without it. I can go without my phone, PC, tablet, and just about anything as long as I can listen to my Xbox Music. There isn't a song that I ever look for that isn't on Xbox Music. One thing that maybe annoys me is occasionally a whole artist will be unavailable for a day or two, then it will be available again. This is a once every few months kind of thing and I am assuming it is a contract lapse with a producer and the service. Even though, you have unlimited access to all this, across all devices.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromAn excellent service with a few limitationsIf the promise is having all the music I want anywhere I want it, it's a promise half-fulfilled. It's definitely all the music my wife and I want, with decent discovery and recommendations via the Radio to boot. However, my work computer and our Xbox One are our only Windows devices in the house. Otherwise, we have iPhones and an Apple computer - Xbox Music works with these devices once you have the Music Pass, but they still feel like 2nd rate citizens. It's far better than trying to use Apple services on Windows devices by comparison, but still leaves me wanting something that feels great everywhere.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromDelivers Everything I Want with ClaritySince purchasing this service I can stream any music I desire on my Surface Pro 2, Windows Phone, Xbox, and web browser anywhere I go with ease and the music sounds amazing. I would recommend this service to anyone who has multiple Microsoft products since this is the best way to get the music you want at any time without having to transfer music files between devices. You can make playlists with any music from the store and store them offline for use anytime you wish. This is an A+ service and I hope to see it grow and flourish in the future! Streaming music on the T-mobile network (the network I have on my phone) also works extremely well, an excellent buy, you won't regret it!

Rated 1 out of5 by fromReally?I'm an Android user that has both a subscription to Play Music and Spotify. I wanted to be able top listen to soundtracks while on my Xbox One and Xbox 360. This service is severely lacking in UI and features! Their app is worthless. There is no category at all! You can't choose a favorite genre, or new music based on music you listen to. Nothing! Every basic feature is missing from the app! You can't start a radio station based on a song you choose. Take note from Spotify, Play Music, and Pandora! Implement features into your service that make it easy and a pleasure to use! Your service is horrendous Microsoft!

Rated 5 out of5 by fromGreat deal for the amount of music you get!I use my Music Pass every day, all the time! Mostly on my Lumia Icon and my Xbox One. Easy to make playlists for working out; Now with One Drive integration for music it's even better; I own a lot of out-of-print stuff that you can't find on ANY streaming service, no matter how good. So I add that stuff to the cloud and it appears on all my xbox music devices! (And I got 100gb One Drive storage for getting the music pass) The one knock I would have on Xbox Music is the radio feature. It's song selections just aren't as good as Pandora's. Good but not as good. Still I mostly like to listen to specific songs or whole albums. Xbox Music with a Music Pass is really worth it.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromSound quality issues, mobile app brokenFirst - On Windows 8, the music app works great and sounds fine. On mobile - the app is broken, missing features, albums, artists and has serious sound quality issues. The problems are very much an Android and IOS app problem. For several weeks the android app gave non specific "Sorry, we're not sure what happened here. Try again later." error. This was on ALL 4 of the Android and iPhone devices I tried. No app update and suddenly the problem was fixed. There was no communication regarding the issue. This leads me to believe the app is not well supported or managed by Microsoft. I regretted the purchase almost instantly. On mobile, you will be disappointed. On Windows 8, none of these problems (except the lacking artist and song selection) were apparent.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromI Love Xbox Music!I have been with Xbox Music since day one and I love the service! The only minor complaint I have is with the playlist system and the constantly changing catalog of music. If I make a playlist a year ago, sometime the songs I have on my playlist are no longer available in the Xbox Music catalog. I don't believe Microsoft is to blame for this. The blame goes to the license agreements with the artist and record labels. Overall Xbox Music blows away any of the competing music services. Love the music video options on the Xbox Music app on Xbox One! I also love that Xbox Music is available on ios, android, Xbox 360, Xbox one, windows phone and pretty much any device with an internet connection!

Rated 1 out of5 by fromHorrible AppThis app is absolute garbage for iOS devices & even Android phones. While MS claims that you can download the songs for off-line listening there should be a disclaimer that not all songs can be played off-line.Also the app attempts to contact the servers for authentication even when off-line which causes the app to either crash, or to stop the song playback altogether. That's why you see these promos with MS offering full year service for half the price. The app needs to be updated or better yet rebuild it from the ground up, as it's absolutely garbage, with a poor interface.
