Easy custom database applications

Access is now much more than a way to create desktop databases. It’s an easy-to-use tool for quickly creating browser-based database applications that help you run your business. Your data is automatically stored in a SQL database, so it’s more secure and scalable than ever, and you can easily share your applications with colleagues.

Create custom apps fast

App Templates. Easily get started by creating a custom app or get inspired by a collection of new and professionally designed app templates.

Table templates. Know what you would like to track with your custom app? Simply start typing it in the “Add tables” textbox and then choose from relevant tables to quickly define fields, relationships, and rules between them. You will have a new app running in minutes.

Experience apps that are easy to use

Related items control. Users can take a peek at additional relevant information in the database without changing screens, so they have the right context when reviewing or entering information.

Autocomplete control. Entering data is now much easier and less error-prone for app users with drop downs and recommendations made upon beginning to type in data. Lookups allow for drawing relationships between records in different tables.

Share your data and control access

Apps for SharePoint deployment. With Access Services and SharePoint Online or On-Prem SharePoint Server 2013, Access apps can now be easily managed and monitored through a company SharePoint site in a browser.

Data stored in SQL. The backend has been moved to SQL Server and Windows Azure SQL Database to allow for added reliability, robust security, scalability and long-term manageability.

3.0GB available

Required Display

Graphics hardware acceleration requires a DirectX 10 graphics card and 1024 x 576 resolution

3.5, 4.0, or 4.5

Multi-touch

A touch-enabled device is required to use any multi-touch functionality. However, all features and functionality are always available by using a keyboard, mouse, or other standard or accessible input device. Note that new touch features are optimized for use with Windows 8.

Additional System Requirements

Some functionality may vary, based on the system configuration. Some features may require additional or advanced hardware or server connectivity.

Note:   System requirements are rounded up to the nearest 0.5GB, to be conservative. For example, if we measure an application’s required hard disk space to be 1.99GB, we recommend 2.5GB of disk space. Our hard disk system requirements are intentionally larger than the actual disk space usage of the software.

A graphics processor helps increase the performance of certain features, such as drawing tables in Excel 2013 or transitions, animations, and video integration in PowerPoint 2013. Use of a graphics processor with Office 2013 requires a Microsoft DirectX 10-compliant graphics processor that has 64MB of video memory. These processors were widely available in 2007. Most computers that are available today include a graphics processor that meets or exceeds this standard. However, if you or your users do not have a graphics processor, you can still run Office 2013.

Ratings and reviews

Rated 4 out of5 by fromGood enough, but......it has problems if i create some complicated DBs. Some weird Relationship problems, not very good error messages, sometimes does not save things. That is the bad side. The good side: is perfect for students and begginers, it is easy to use and understand, powerfull enough and good looking.

Rated 2 out of5 by fromAccessDitto:I had to buy Microsoft Access for a college course. The software comes without the help feature and there is no manual available rendering it virtually useless. I am so disappointed. There was no manual in the Microsoft store. I'm rating this poor because without the help feature and/or a manual the software is useless.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromCollege students need to make a little effort.I see a number of reviews of the product that have nothing to do with the product, but rather what they have to pay for it, or what packages it is or isn't in. Do a little research, read the box. Several are supposedly college students. Take a look at Office 365 University (here is the link since it may be asking to much for you to search for it, http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Office-365-University/productID.275549300) This is a license for a full suite of Office, including Access and Publisher, and web storage, plus other stuff, for $80 for a 4 (four) year license, for 2 (two) devices, like a desktop AND a laptop. Make an effort folks. You'll need to, to make through college.
