Rated 3 out of5 bySpeedy2319 fromGreat game, incredibly funAssassins creed like world, very fun could play it for hours. Great graphics and has plenty of content and story. However it goes against some details of both the books and movies, does not completely follow Tolkien's view of middle earth. Complete fans of them would not enjoy this game.

Rated 4 out of5 byUmbra fromAssassin Creedish with LOTR backdrop.Love this game...spent about 40 hours of the first 48 hours or so camped on it...as with AC it can get redundant at times, but in the best possible way.

Rated 5 out of5 byIzzle fromGreat GameThis game for some reason flew under the radar. I remember seeing commercials for it, but the game play, graphics, story, controls, upgrades and the open world makes this game arguably the best game out right now. It's well worth the money and I suggest everyone who likes action and combat games to try it out.

Rated 5 out of5 byForg fromDifficult yet rewardingThis game is quite the adventure, from taking over armies making them do your bidding to taking down orcs in a number of different ways one of the best RPGs the Xbox has yet to offer. Well worth the money and I have already pumped hundreds of hours into.

Rated 5 out of5 byGrasven fromIncredible!Best game I've played this gen and an absolute treat for any fan of Tolkien's work. The world felt alive, the voice acting was wonderful, and best of all the story actually made my jaw drop on the last line.

Rated 1 out of5 byEldacarion fromCatastrophic ruination of the Tolkien spirit.Shadow of Mordor is an excellent game. The visual quality is superb, and the aesthetic appearance of everything is a refined artistic masterpiece. However, the game is inherently a flawed game. It takes place in Middle-earth. It contorts the spirit of Tolkien's Middle-earth. The greatest problem lay in how uncanon the game is, with Celebrimbor being a wraith. This is never permitted within the Tolkien canon, nor anywhere else. An elf would never take control of an orc horde. As an avid Tolkien fan, this game makes me very sad. I wish that it had been placed in a different medium, with changes to structure that allowed the game to remain, possibly, in the canon.Better luck next time.
