Rated 1 out of5 by fromBuggy as all heckAs much as I love AC... this game makes it rather hard to play with it's sub 20fps frame rates, NPCs falling out of the skies, audio cutting out at random times, random crashes (two just yesterday alone for me), the occasional fall to my death through solid objects... this game required another 3-6 months of testing and optimization... instead it was released in an unfinished format and here a month later is a pain to try to play.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromTakes me back to Assassins Creed IISince I bought this game I have been just sort of being a tourist. The game is absolutely beautiful. As player of every game in the main series, outside of Rogue and the mobile games, I can say that in my opinion this is my new favorite. I know there are different ideas of what the best game is and as a player who thinks that A.C. II was the best I think that those who feel the same will like this game a lot. The new mechanics are refreshing. The free run system has different ways to traverse environments now. The Right trigger is to run and by adding the press of the A and B buttons the way you travel changes. A is to climb up and it lets the player jump higher and farther while running. Once the player gets on to a surface to traverse, just holding the right trigger will let the player run across it without as much chance of doing something unexpected like in the other games. B lets the player have a controlled descent while holding right trigger and has shorter and lower jumps. Once the player becomes acclimated to the controls it makes getting around much easier. The combat has changed also. There are now different factions in the city that are more or less aggressive to the player and this can be used to the players advantage. Combat is more similar to Batman now with timed parrying and dodges being important. Combat is much more deadly and although fighting is possible especially with practice and putting points in that skill tree it is a game that lends more to stealth approaches. I don't want anyone to think that stealth is the only way to play though. This game is very open and really allows the player to decide how to compete missions. There are multiple weapons and skills to tailor your assassin. There are one handed weapons, heavy weapons, pistols, rifles and others plus an assortment of gadgets and bombs. Co-op is a really fun addition to the game. You have safe houses that you purchase and fix up and in those places you can see which of your friends are online and join them that way. There are different types of co-op missions through out the city that you can play any time either alone or with other people. There are also brotherhoods which are like guilds and allow you and your friends to join them and take part in various challenges. Now the way you equip your character will determine your aptitudes as each item has different stat boosts. So creating a team with different abilities suited to play styles is easy and fun because it gives each character a different look. The game is full of many things to do and see plus there is a companion app that opens up more things. This is definitely my kind of game but I'm sure it doesn't appeal to everyone but that doesn't make it a bad game. I don't like the Call of Duty games but that doesn't mean I think they are bad, just not for me. If you like stealth and third person games I think you might like this. It's Assassin's Creed, you know what you're getting into. Oh, and no more animus stuff. You just stay in the game the whole time. I like that. You are still supposed to be in the animus but you are being contacted by an agent that just gives you some story sometimes.
