Ratings and reviews

Rated 5 out of5 by from5 Stars-Graphics ...3 Stars-GameFor a game with actual people, the graphics were amazing. Movie quality. The story line was pretty good. The game itself was pretty repetitive and I agree ...a bit short. Did not take long for my man to finish the game. I'm still sold on the graphics tho. I've never seen people look so real in a video game.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromOne of the Best Games on Xbox OneI picked up this game around late December, a month after I got my Xbox One, and I already couldn't wait to get my hands on it before. This game is exceptional in the spectacle (visual fidelity) and gameplay/combat. People may see QTEs (Quick-Time Events) as boring and useless, yet Ryse utilizes them perfectly in order to match different player styles. The story is very strong, and I played through 4 times to learn everything. Also, there is a Gladiator Mode online which is always addicted. I got up to a high level too! This game is everything for an Xbox One launch title I could have wanted. Simplistic Achievements, Amazing Graphics, Unique Gameplay, etc. Go and buy this game! You won't be dissappointed! (NEVER listen to Critic reviews. They were definitely wrong about this game!)GT: Oblivion588

Rated 3 out of5 by fromSatisfying considering the bar was set so low.I was hesitant to take the plunge on this game. I saw the reveal at E3 and said what everyone else said, "It looks incredible, but from the demo the game looks like nothing but QTE's over and over." Thankfully it isn't that cut and dry. QTE's exist, but they aren't overbearing. It is a visually stunning game, but the game does have some downfalls. The game is just about as linear as it can get, so if you're looking to free roam, you may be disappointed. The combat is extraordinarily simple and it doesn't change at all throughout the game. It's very much a "hack and slasher" so if that is not your thing, you've been warned. Also, the game is fairly short, probably about 6 hours or so for most gamers. The mutliplayer aspect wasn't very appealing to me personally, but I know others that enjoy it.I would recommend this game with reduced price tag. This just isn't a $60 game. This past week it was discounted to $40, but I'd saying in a few months, that price will drop to $20-$25 and that's when you should strike. Good luck.

Rated 4 out of5 by from"Ryse up and take back Rome!"Ryse: Son of Rome is an great action title that makes you feel as if you are really in the fight to take back Rome. The main character Marius, is involved in a pretty intense, dramatic, and tragic experience that really makes you want to take out all the barbarians that you come across. That's where Ryse really shines. The combat in Ryse is exceptional and brutal. It's also simple enough where you will be pulling off blocks, dodges, rolls, counters and executions in a few minutes. It does reward you however, for perfectly timed attacks, counters etc, with boosting XP, Focus, or Health. There isn't much else to do besides fight, but because the combat is so awesome, it's definitely worth playing. The next best thing about Ryse are the visuals. This may be the best looking next-gen title right next to Forza 5. The campaign is relatively short, but the amazing combat and unlockable executions will have you itching to go back through on the Legendary difficulty. There is also online co-op arenas if you feel like just jumping into the combat with a friend. GRAPHICS: 10/10 GAMEPLAY: 7/10 SOUND: 9/10
