Rated 2 out of5 by fromFix With Gorilla GlueLike many others here, the plastic housing holding the magnetic strip at the end of my power supply broke after a few months of normal use. However, I was able to fix it good as new with gorilla glue. A year later it is still working.

Rated 2 out of5 by fromFalling ApartMy wife and I both have one of these that came with our his & her Surface Pro 3 tablets. Mine is still doing fine. The cable near the connector started to fray on hers after less than a year, showing the shielding underneath the plastic. We are buying a 3rd party replacement from Newegg for 1/4th the price and taking our chances.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromShielding poking out from the power end.I have the same problem as one of the other reviews. I bought the Surface 3 Pro to replace my laptop, like MS suggests. And it totally did. I now bring this exclusively with me to work when I am on the road. I love it! But I noticed the other day that where the power cord plugs into the Surface there is shielding sticking out.I have had this about 1.5 months as well and I use it only for when I am on the road (granted this is about 65% of my work). It is only used by me, no one else. I came here looking to see how much it would cost to replace it when it eventually stops working and am shocked to see that it's $70. For something that lasted 1.5 months, in the hands of an IT Professional that treats his electronics VERY carefully, I couldn't believe it.I will wait for a third party charger with a braided cable or something before I replace. But, please, fix this for others, 1.5 months for a $70 charger is just laughable.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromPoor QualityThe original one that came with my Surface Pro 3 was dead out of the box and the identical replacement unit now has exposed wires at the DC end and does not make good contract with the Surface. I love the Surface and hope an alternative power supply will be offered in the future.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromCord starting to FrayCord lasted only a few weeks and started to fray at the computer end. Not a good design.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromLooks great but Low reliabilityI got our Surface Pro 3 along with Type Cover and Power adapter. Hardly used much. One morning, during charging, the charger stopped charging. Can't work out what to do. Microsoft should make the charger very reliable

Rated 2 out of5 by fromBreaking After 2 Months of Light Use?!I've been pretty careful with my power supply, but the cord is already fraying and losing power intermittently! It's only been 2 months since I bought Surface Pro 3.It's a fun and easy-to-use power supply (magnetic snap) but it seems very prone to failure through light wear and tear.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromWeak and keeps breakingI already purchased this for a second time and now the second one is breaking as well after less than half a year. The material they made this particular cord out of is really thin and does not take wear and tear well. I would not keep buying this if this is not the only thing that can charge my surface pro 3.
