Rated 2 out of5 byBender fromDecent Headphone - Mic Issues... StillI pre-ordered these when they first came out and decided it was time for a short review. The sound quality is great for gaming and movies in general. 4 Stars here.Mic didn't work well at the beginning which I'm sure everyone knows by now. They sent out a replacement cord that had a boom mic attached in order to fix the issue. It did not. I did the updates and still no talky talky. Pretty much the sole reason for purchasing a gaming headset. Otherwise I would have gone with a sound specific headset. 2 star deduction. After about 6 months of use, the headset snapped right at the top under the padding. They still work, but they do not fit well anymore. I'll just toss this off to high usage. No deduction.

Rated 5 out of5 bySkepticTank fromExcellent Directional PositioningFirst off, I cannot yet comment properly on the Mic as I have not used it extensively. I was told, using the phone cable, that the audio was very low. I changed it to my beats phone cable and apparently the voice was much better. Now, for the review..Also I bought the Melee (but I think they are the same as the 4 Shots)This headset provides excellent sound. I used it to play BF4 and the directional sound is amazing. I have read through many reviews and discussions about the difference between stereo and replicated 'surround' headsets to see if there is a difference and if it will be good for games especially competitive FPS and got mixed opinions. Well, after using these I definitely can say that the positional sound for these are great.I always knew that positional sound on stereo headsets were there, just not how good they are compared to replicated surround headsets. This was proven to me when, in the heat of battle, I tracked down an enemy whilst in a smoke grenade radius with no visibility and was able to follow him exactly where he was just listening to his footsteps.I was previously using an XO Four and they were good, I had no issues but these things are just much better overall. Better build, better comfort, better sound. It just feels more.. premium. However, I have only had this for a couple of days so I don't know how the quality of the materials used will fair in the long term.I try my best to look after my headsets and I really hope these don't break on me.

So glad I did, not much out there for the Xbox one, but these sound great, so good I bought an extra pair to have as spares. I don't think Polk is going to continue to sell this model. There is really only one con, the MIC. it works but that's about it. I'm waiting for customer service to send me new cables with boom mics, we'll see if that resolves the issue. Will update upon receipt...

Rated 5 out of5 byDURKE fromGreat headset but you need the polk....Great headset but you need the polk controller adapter for mics. This adapter will rid the headset of echo issues. The adapter however is not for sale. It will come with the Striker ZX for xbox one headset. I received one of those as a replacement for my 4shots and absolutely love them!

Rated 3 out of5 byhappygodavid fromSo close to being the perfect headphonesI've tried more Xbox One headsets than I care to enumerate, and I've finally landed on keeping the 4 Shots, in spite of their shortcomings. What makes them great:1. Comfort!!! Most gaming headsets are too tight, but because these have rotating ear cups and a metal headband, I can bend the metal slightly to accommodate my melon head.2. Size. Most gaming headsets needlessly have softball-sized ear cups. The 4 Shots are perfect.3. Multiple cables allow for more uses than just gaming.4. Construction/design. Sturdy, rotating ear cups, metal headband. Sleek look, but not too "gamer." I'm okay wearing these in public to listen to tunes. What could make them better:1. The built-in mic, as many have noted, is insufficient for gaming. Change the mic to a retractable mic like on the Striker ZX headset, and it would be perfect. (The Boom Mic cable fixed the issue, but it's more cumbersome than a retractable mic, and the cloth liner on the cable makes noise from rubbing against clothing.)2. Mic monitoring. Include the controller adapter that is included with the Striker.3. Bonus feature: Bluetooth. If Polk can put a battery pack and bluetooth into a package the size of the 4 Shots, they will have achieved greatness.

Rated 4 out of5 byDanielTy88 fromNot bad,But could be betterComfort: The plush leather makes this the most comfortable headset I have ever used. But the ear cups are so small that it causes ear pain and have to be removed.I have small ears and they are still to small for me, Couldn't imagine someone with big ears even trying to use this headset on a casual basis.Sound: Great sound with deep lush bass, The ear cups cancel out all unwanted outside noise and really pulls you into what ever you're using them for. But as soon as you join a party with friends that unwanted outside noise becomes a problem when you can't even hear yourself talking to your friends. Especially when you're in-game, With game sound, friends talking. You end up screaming into the mic because you can't hear yourself speak. There really needs to be a voice playback through the speakers so it keeps you from screaming.Really want to help out and make the headsets better!
