Rated 4 out of5 by fromNiceI really don't have any complaints about Win 8.1. It took some getting used to, but now that the learning curve is over, I have decided that I really like it. Might be their best so far.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromI really enjoy Windows 8.1I've been using it ever since the "release preview". It's basically a more refined, better looking, faster version of Windows 7.I even prefer the Windows 8 start screen. I'm also "tech intermediate" so that probably doesn't hurt. I think many people complaining about the OS and the new design/features are borderline tech illiterate. I've heard very few valid criticisms of the product.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromGreat Operating systemI ran Windows 7 ever since I bought my current PC. Windows 8.1 has so many nice new features. I learning about them everyday. It was a great purchase. I am looking forward to Windows 10 when it comes out.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromMicrosoft Windows 8.1 is a vast improvementI purchased 8.1 for one computer, because I needed to upgrade the size of my SSD hard drive and I might as well upgrade the OS at the same time.I was so impressed with 8.1 Pro, I purchased another to install on my other computer; which was running Windows 7 Ultimate Pro.I haven't regretted it for a moment. It appears Microsoft removed all of the nagging problems with Windows 8 and packaged Windows 8.1 Pro as a far better OS.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromISO Media Not AvailableI wanted to run Windows on my Macbook Pro laptop, however, Windows 8.1 is only available via EXE or DVD. My laptop doesn't have Windows installed on it, so the EXE doesn't work. It also doesn't have a DVD drive. So that doesn't work. I would have preferred to install it on Parallels but that would have required a simple ISO. Long story short, I returned the product because it wasn't available on media that I could use. I'm sure there must be a reason it's not available on ISO, however, in this case, it prevented a sale to a willing customer with money-in-hand.It could be a nice product, but I won't be able to say until it's available on media I can use. Microsoft won't have any luck getting Mac users to come back into the fold if they don't make it available in a format they can use.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromNo use for phone developmentI had a good core2duo laptop but it turned out i cannot use windows phone emulator since it doesn't support virtualization. Then spent a fortune and bought a laptop with Core i3 and Windows 8.1 64 bit only to find that Windows 8.1 PRO version is needed for emulators. Just wanted to shout and curse microsoft for making life difficult for developers. Why do i have to buy a PRO just to use the windows phone emulators. I had enough.... and now moving to android dev.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromI love this OS!At first I was very, very sceptic - Changes are always hard - but after a few weeks I really got used to the system. It never crashes and is made in a very user friendly way. The way of using the 'Metro blocks' as a start botton is actually quite good, you'll have way more space to put your programs and even live updates from apps. As for security, it's good. Even better then the previous onces. I like the way of clicking on the top of an app and dragging it down to close. To bad this doesn't happen with every program (maybe something for improvement?). To keep it short, I love this OS, and keep going Microsoft!
