Rated 3 out of5 by fromGreat Gizmo - Bad Battery :-(A great innovative accessory, really like that it turns my keyboard into a standard Bluetooth one, not proprietary to the Surface Pro -- works with my Apple TV even. The only thing I don't like about the accessory is the use of a NiMH battery.  Takes longer to charge (4-5 hours from being discharged) and doesn't last all that long (6-8 hours of continuous use).  NiMH also loses a charge when not in use, at about 1% a day -- doesn't do standby well.  The only reason to choose NiMH over lithium ion would be cost, it's a lot cheaper. The accessory is priced as if it contains lithium ion, but instead contains older battery tech -- NiMH :-(

Rated 5 out of5 by fromGreat AccessoryI like the fact that I can place the screen farther from the keyboard as need for my eyes to focus better. Also, I can then place a text book closer to the left of the keyboard, but more in front of the screen. I can also put the keyboard in my lap and still have the screen at a higher elevation, I can be at the back of the classroom and still have the Surface up front attached to a projector. It gives me more flexibility while in the classroom or at home to use my Surface as an interface with a Large Monitor, TV, or Projector.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromVery useful, but can't hold a chargeThe wireless bar is invaluable, especially when using a TV as a monitor or simply distancing yourself away from the body of the Surface. However, the charge drains for some reason. I thought this thing would have come with a lithium battery, but this must be using some sort of old battery tech or something is wrong with mine. Anyway, if I use it right after a full charge, it lasts a while, but if I charge it a few days in advance, it looses charge over those days while idle, and that's pretty inconvenient. For that, I took off a star.Other than the battery charge leak, this is a fantastic product. It feels solid, well-made, and it connects quickly and reliably.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromGood product, only charges while off.The unit itself functions well, and connects reliably with Bluetooth. The only issue I have with the adapter is the charging situation - it will only charge when turned off. Plugging it into a USB connection while turned on and in use will not charge the adapter, according to MS Support. For the build quality and the price, a simultaneous charging-while-in-use solution would have been more appropriate.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromgreat to use with a windows 10 phone too!I bought this to go with my SP2, and it's followed my to my S3. it's nice to be able to push the surface a little bit out and get some distance between the device and the keyboard. It also allows you to add tilt to your keyboard, since you can flip the reciever around.I always felt it was a little bit overpriced, but what i realized, especially after using it with windows 10 phone, is it allows the use of the trackpad, so you don't need a separate mouse. This is huge, considering you can do full documents in word on a lumia 640XL and actually place the cursor in a reasonable place with the trackpad. This makes the surface keyboard more functional then just a surface specific device. I hope they refine the device to make it have a switch to toggle the radio between devices.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromGreat add-onBought this when it first came out, I use it mostly when I have the Surface hooked up to an external monitor. It works great, and I haven't had any of the issues with battery live or battery drain. Keep it in my bag with the Surface, and have never had it come out dead even after a couple months of sitting in the bag.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromBeats Fatigue!I elevated my Surface on a PWR+ adjustable desk stand to avoid posture fatigue (I need to get closer to the screen because of my eyesight). Now I can remove my keyboard and keep it on my desk while my screen is at a proper height to avoid back and neck strain and my Surface is at a visual working distance compatible with my sight.

Rated 3 out of5 by fromUse it everyday, but only lasts until lunchI love this, especially with the Docking Station, but it will only last until lunch. During lunch, though, I charge it, and it will typically last until the end of day. If you can remember to charge it during lunch, then all is good. Otherwise, though, I'd grade the battery life as poor.
