Multi-touch

A touch-enabled device is required to use any multi-touch functionality. However, all features and functionality are always available by using a keyboard, mouse, or other standard or accessible input device. Note that new touch features are optimized for use with Windows 8.

Additional System Requirements

Some functionality may vary, based on the system configuration. Some features may require additional or advanced hardware or server connectivity.

Note:   System requirements are rounded up to the nearest 0.5GB, to be conservative. For example, if we measure an application’s required hard disk space to be 1.99GB, we recommend 2.5GB of disk space. Our hard disk system requirements are intentionally larger than the actual disk space usage of the software.

A graphics processor helps increase the performance of certain features, such as drawing tables in Excel 2013 or transitions, animations, and video integration in PowerPoint 2013. Use of a graphics processor with Office 2013 requires a Microsoft DirectX 10-compliant graphics processor that has 64MB of video memory. These processors were widely available in 2007. Most computers that are available today include a graphics processor that meets or exceeds this standard. However, if you or your users do not have a graphics processor, you can still run Office 2013.

Ratings and reviews

Rated 5 out of5 by fromFinally FixedWord 2013 fixed many of the improvements that had been introduced over the past few years that made Word somewhat difficult to use. The appearance now is clean and functional without all of the 'pop' features and oddball layouts.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromWorks wonderfully!I have used 'Word' for many, many years and have always loved it.My only complaint is that you do not have the option to download it onto a CD or DVD and cannot purchase one when you purchase the download. This is what happened when my computer crashed and because I had purchased the original program so many years ago, and had no copy, I had to purchase it again. Why isn't there an offer for a 'back up' for my purchased program???

Rated 5 out of5 by fromVery good product.I have used Word for years and love it, so I upgraded to Word 2013. I used it to write my book The Dreaming Solution, which took 11 years to write. The only negative is when my laptop went out Microsoft claimed I had my new Word 2013 on too many computers, but I only had it one computer.

Rated 2 out of5 by fromGreat features, but bug that hogs CPU even closedWord 2013 adds an important feature of opening pdf files. This is something I wanted. But whenever I load word 2013, my computer heats up and the task manager shows word loading several instances. Even when I kill several instances off, it reloads them. The only thing that works is shutting down the system and starting back up. So for now, I use 2010 word unless I need the new feature.
