Additional System Requirements

Some functionality may vary, based on the system configuration. Some features may require additional or advanced hardware or server connectivity.

Microsoft account required.

Note:   System requirements are rounded up to the nearest 0.5GB, to be conservative. For example, if we measure an application’s required hard disk space to be 1.99GB, we recommend 2.5GB of disk space. Our hard disk system requirements are intentionally larger than the actual disk space usage of the software.

A graphics processor helps increase the performance of certain features, such as drawing tables in Excel 2013 or transitions, animations, and video integration in PowerPoint 2013. Use of a graphics processor with Office 2013 requires a Microsoft DirectX 10-compliant graphics processor that has 64MB of video memory. These processors were widely available in 2007. Most computers that are available today include a graphics processor that meets or exceeds this standard. However, if you or your users do not have a graphics processor, you can still run Office 2013.

Ratings and reviews

Rated 5 out of5 by fromLifesaver!I just bought this and I must say that I am very happy with it so far. I read all of the reviews and was afraid to purchase because many mac users were so unhappy about it. So before committing, I decided to ask questions about compatibility. The response was professional and timely. When having difficulty with installation, an employee was able to fix my problem within 30 minutes. I don't know why there are such low ratings. I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that the mac version is only 2011. But I think it's fine for basic purposes. It's all personal preference, really.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromOver priced fpr studentsI got this before find that my school does not use this. My school has switch to Open Office since it is free and works better than this. You need internet connection 24/7 or it does not work. I had a power outage so the router went down. I still have 3 hours of battery life on the laptop. I had a paper due the next day. Since the router lost power, there was no internet and could not write any more of my paper. The professor said that should have used Open Office since it will work without Internet connection and is free. This is one of the reason school has stopped using Office.I would not recommand this product if you need any work done.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromPerfect for StudentsMy university has Office 365 on all of the computers on campus and they are great. They are so easy to use and help a lot with all of the homework that we have to submit online. I have 2007 on my computer but I am going to buy 365 because it is so much better than my little '07. The price might look scary, but you are getting one of the most innovative products on the market with Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and many others. For everything you are getting, the price is actually quite cheap... However it might not seem so cheap if you don't use all of the applications and only use a handful such as just Word and Powerpoint, but if you use all of them (which you should at some point while you are a student) then you are getting an amazing deal.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromUse Office 365 "off-line" all the timeSaw all the 1 star reviews by Apple Fanboys saying that Office 365 only works online so I thought I should chime in as an owner/user of Office 365. If you save your file online (One Drive on the cloud for example), then obviously you must be online to edit the file. Always hated Microsoft, but the Apple Fanboys are driving me away from Apple. I use Android, Windows, Linux and pencil and paper before I'll use any Fanboy promoted Apple product.I give it 5 stars for features/price balance. Open Office is ok, but what about Access and One Note?

Rated 4 out of5 by fromgreat to have with me all the timei like the fact that this package can be accessed anywhere, and once I figured it out, it did take a little bit of experimenting, it's a breeze. that could have been done a little more clearly, however, while i experimented i learned. I bought it mostly because I got tired of going back and forth between Pages and Googgle Docs. since all my documents are in MS office, then it made sence. i have converted everything to OneDrive and love it. all my important stuff in one place and the huge storage space is amazing.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromRequires 24/7 Internet ConnectionAs student that roams limited hotspot connection, sits in fields, sometimes away from WiFi AND/OR 4G Connection. This is a no-brainer. Disappointed with Microsoft requiring constant internet connection in order to do anything is really affecting things to get done. Microsoft Office 2010 was my last highly effective platform I used. (those lucky enough to still have it. keep it close)TL:DR; Do not buy this unless you have some sort of ability to stay connected 24/7, even in the most remote areas.Reddit should be hearing about this soon :)#RedditArmy #Reddit
