Rated 4 out of5 by fromGood Device makes it seamlessFinally got a hold of the docking station. Very nice device. It has made my Surface Pro part of my home theater & its own desktop system. Small foot print. Easaly plugs in & out. The Logitech mini speakers on it work well. I too wish it had an extra USB 3 Port. It would also be nice to possibly have one type of video out built in but all in all a nice device.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromEliminates the need for a desktop machineI have had my Surface Pro 2 for about 5 months now. With the addition of the docking device, I have a regular keyboard and mouse (1 USB port) and a wide screen monitor (multi-port display). The USB 3 port is used for an external hard drive, another USB port is used to connect the phone, and the last USB port is for a USB-to-VGADVI/HDMI adapter. This gives me the Surface monitor, and two full size displays for THREE monitors. (By the way, you can take of the type cover off if you want so it doesn't get in the way.)I also use the wired Ethernet connection to get double the speed of the WiFi connection and I almost never use my separate charger - the docking station keeps the Surface charged and shuts off when the Surface is fully charged. Also, the Surface solidly connects and disconnects from the docking station in about half a second. The docking station eliminates the need for a desktop machine. So my Surface wound up replacing my iPad, Kindle Fire, laptop, AND desktop. The docking station is very sturdy and well build - $200 isn't chump change, but you are getting a quality product for your money. The docking station is very well designed and solidly manufactured.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromIncreased FlexibilityThis great device truly allowed us to turn our Surface Pro into our main desktop system! It's small, simple to use and it looks good too.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromDocking Station is Worth the Money and the Wait!I bought this docking station about two weeks ago at the same time I bought a Surface Pro 2 that was out of stock. Once I received my Surface Pro 2 and hooked it up to the docking station, a monitor, and printer, I was instantly in business. My home setup is compact and quite functional. I have the docking station sitting on a desktop stand for a laptop and it hardly takes up any space. This piece of equipment is ideal for anyone trying to do more with less and keep a clutter free work space. Love it and thinking about buying another one for my work office!!!

Rated 4 out of5 by fromSurface Docking StationI had a problem buying this in the UK and was able to purchase it in Best Buy in the US, why?? It works very well and I love my Surface 1. I am looking to replace it with a new one in the new year. I think the docking station should be 'pushed' more for the workplace as it fits the requirements for Health & Safety when attached to a keyboard and big screen.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromPower light - poor design, otherwise solidThe power connection on my docking station is finicky. I will exchange it the next opportunity I have. But it highlighted a significant design flaw. The charging light cannot be seen from a normal sitting position. The light is on the top of the right locking arm on an angle that faces away from you. It can be clearly seen from the back and it completely not visible from the front. Otherwise a solid device.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromWorth the wait!I had to use my Surface Pro for about a year before the docking stations were available and have found it to be great. I use it at my office, home and when I travel. Late last year I bought an Ethernet adapter ($40) and starting using my Surface Pro as my desktop at work. Even with the old Surface Pro, it does the job fine (and I open light CAD drawings regularly). About a month ago I finally bought the docking station (which includes its own power cable by the way). Right out of the box you realize it is as solid as the Surface Pro. Now that I have started using it I absolutely love it. I need at least one more for home and might even buy a third for a satellite office that I work from often. I am basically able to slide my workstation out of the dock (about 2 seconds) and carry my "workstation" with me. Since I have virtually eliminated the need of the 3 old workstations that I had now I think I might sell my old Surface Pro and splurge for the Surface Pro 2 with the 8GB of memory. The Surface Pro and docking station are completely changing the way I work!

Rated 3 out of5 by fromLackluster networking supportThe dock is great.  The surface slides in perfectly with no hick ups.  I was seriously looking at this item - but then I saw 10/100 and was immediately turned off.  With USB3 connectivity this should be 10/100/1000.  The plug gable docks achieve this just over USB3 so I am not sure why this does not as well.  Disappointing.
