Rated 4 out of5 by fromReally ConvenientI bought this a few weeks ago and am enjoying it a lot. I love the fact that I can turn my XBox, Cable, Receiver, and TV on simply by saying "X-Box On" and the powerful IR Blaster embedded in the Kinect just works. The added functionality that this brings to my X-Box is suddenly something I simply can't do without. So why only four stars? A couple things. First, the wonderful voice commands are not heard as consistently as I would like...especially if the room is loud while playing a game. I would love it if there was a way to actually calibrate the Kinect to my voice so that it could pick up what I'm saying easier. It does calibrate to the ambient noise in the room, but not to your specific voice a la Cortana on Windows 10. Second, there is very definite lag to the video, much as there was with Kinect on the 360, which makes actually playing games with Kinect as the primary input less responsive than I deem acceptable. MS put so much research and thought into this peripheral that I have a hard time conceiving of any good reason why, during development, someone didn't say, "you know, we should really, REALLY improve the response time of this thing!" So, bottom line, voice commands are terrific and I use them all the time to change channels, open games, record video, turn on my devices, and all sorts of other things. I wish that the Kinect was a little better at picking up voice commands, but it's still a huge convenience and added value to have them as they are now. Motion capture, on the other hand, works, but is too laggy to be seriously used to play, in my opinion.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromCould Be BetterThis works great as a Netflix remote... but I can't get it to select which profile I want to use when first opening Netflix. I have to turn on the controller, pick my Netflix profile, and then I can use Kinect as the remote.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromWorks GREAT, BUT NEEDS MORE GAMES!!!It seems like Microsoft went and developed an excellent upgrade to the XBox 360 Kinect and then abandoned it. Why are there not more games for the XBox One Kinect?

Rated 5 out of5 by fromsuch a great add-on"Xbox On""Xbox record that""Xbox go to Netflix/Halo 5/minecraft""Xbox play/pause/rewind"There's not much in the way of good games for this, but seriously just get it for the commands above. I used my brother-in-law's xbox this weekend (no Kinect) and never realized how much I used my own Kinect so now I'm getting them one for Christmas. It's so nice at night to be in our kitchen and say "xbox on" and then "xbox go to Netflix" and without ever even looking at the tv, the xbox turns on my tv and loads Netflix. Same with games. And if on the rare occasion I do something awesome in a game I can just say "xbox record that" and it saves a game clip without interrupting my game. I wish there were decent games to play with the kinect but even without it is so worth it.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromWorks FlawlesslyI should have bought my Xbox One with the Kinect from the start. No more hassles logging in with my secure password (really long and tedious) and we love using the fitness app.
