Overview

"It's an open-world, a blank page just daring you to jump in and do with it what you will."

IGN
Dream it, build it

Dream it, build it

There's no limit to what you can create in Minecraft. From that dream house you always wanted to your own private island, this is your block-building paradise. The only thing holding you back is your imagination.

Take shelter

Take shelter

Skeletons, zombies, creepers, oh my! Watch your back when night falls. That's when monsters go on the prowl, hunting for those careless enough to be out in the open. So be sure you build a shelter that can withstand their relentless attacks.

It's better with friends

It's better with friends

Minecraft lets you share the fun with four players split-screen on one console or up to eight players over Xbox Live.* Collaborate, share, build, destroy. Just be sure to play nice, kids.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromEveryone Needs Minecraft!Everyone should have Minecraft in their collection. There's nothing more satisfying than starting a new world in Survival Mode, coming up with creative building ideas, and slowly creating a massive world with cities, treehouses, pools . . . whatever you can dream up! It's much better than playing laggy online multiplayer games. Plus, your whole family can play!

Rated 4 out of5 by fromNot bad, not perfectI won't deny that I like Minecraft quite a bit, but any common gamer would agree with me that it gets tiring very quickly. The Xbox platform lacks the ability to add game content mods that the PC can. I just can't build and build forever. After a while the game becomes more of a social event with friends rather than a game.
