Ratings and reviews

Rated 5 out of5 by fromExcellent Thinkpad Yoga s1I have been an IBM/Lenovo computer user since my first one in 2002. I have had models x30-x61, T30-T61p (set up mostly for college use by daughters). This Thinkpad Yoga S1 is the perfect size and has the most useful options a portable Windows user requires. I purchased a OneLink dock ($110 extra!) but the flexibility that device gives me for portability AND desktop use is just great. The screen on my Yoga Thinkpad is 1080 and it is very bright. Ghosting issues are non-existent for me since I am not a gamer and I watch movies on my television! The keyboard is just what I have always come to expect from IBM/Lenovo, superior and flexible. My ONLY COMPLAINT is that the Thinkpad touchpad software never remembers how I have configured keeps dropping back to some basic configuration. So, my favorite function (tap and drag) NEVER remains from one boot up to another. That is a Synaptics software driver issue. Excellent computer for my use.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromAmazing feature set makes for a great value.Overall this is a great unit that is held back by a few minor flaws. In laptop mode it functions great with the main issue being the Synaptic touchpad driver as another reviewer pointes out. In my view the driver issue is unacceptable form a laptop at this price! I simply wonder why no PC manufacturer can make touchpads that function on par with the Gold Apple Standard? When folded with keyboard down it is simply amazing and will do all your tablet can plus more without having to hold it. This is especially useful sitting up in bed reading, surfing, or playing a game. Add the ability to accurately write, sketch or even paint with the pen and the added value becomes apparent. It is in tablet mode that I use it least and find it to be just too heavy and hard to handle for very long. Which should be expected in my view as you are buying a laptop that happens to able to act like a tablet and this is the best example of that animal. If you want a tablet that happens masquerade as a laptop the the Microsoft Surface Pro is the one to get.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromPerfect for a College Student!I love this laptop, it's fast, has good battery life and being able to write notes on it is a game-changer (it has a super accurate stylus, plus a really nice keyboard (to write all those papers) .The screen is high res. but on the small side. So I do also have an 21.5 inch Dell external screen (got it for $120) that I use sometimes, when I do excel work and research papers--and prefer to look at 4+ windows simultaneously.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromGood 2 in 1I'm normally a fan of apple computers but this is a great concept unit having both laptop and tablet functionality while having a computer based os. It is also follows a reputable name line - thinkpad. I enjoy the smaller screen size because anything larger makes the tablet function for me seem too much. Granted I'm not using it for any kind of artistic purpose so this is just my opinion. And finally the built in digitizer pen is an awesome feature that is very unique and great for taking hand written notes.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromGreat features!I bought this a month ago and I am so happy that this laptop fits all my needs. It flexible with 360 degree angles, light and easy to carry on. I use computer every day. Since I bought this one, I even do not bring the charge. It can work a whole day. The keyboard is excellent and I feel comfortable when typing words. The only thing I did not feel well is the touchpad. It is not sensitive sometimes. But after using for a month, I am familiar with it and it is not a problem any more.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromIncredible build quality, great performerPros:Build quality is phenomenal, very solid and durable, the hinges are perfect.Light, great screen, great keyboard, doesn't get hot or noisy.Again, the screen is gorgeous.Cons:Not sure if this issue is found in all units, but mine shows some slight ghosting specially around the browser's edges, you will retain the borders when you switch to a darker screen (like watching a movie), it only lasts for a minute or two, at first it was annoying but now I hardly notice it.The touchpad, at first when I click it in (it doesn't have buttons, it all acts as a button, it all presses inside), it would not respond, frankly I don't like to click the while pad, so I found that I can use easier gestures, a simple tap (without pressing the whole pad in) as if it is a touchscreen, just one finger tap acts as a left click, and two finger tap acts as a right click, once I learned to use these gestures I never had a problem with the touchpad. So why am I giving it a 5 star although I mentioned two problems? Because the first I hardly pay attention to it anymore and the second has an easy workaround, so all in all I absolutely love my Lenovo thinkpad Yoga :)
