Ratings and reviews

Rated 4 out of5 by fromNot bad.I prefer using Windows on all of my PC's and Windows 8.1 Pro isn't bad especially with the student discount. My only gripe about it is that it doesn't allow some files to install no matter what access you give them.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromDoes what I need it to and it's easier than LinuxI upgraded to 8.1 pro because I needed hyper-V support and it does what I need it to. Setting up Visual Studio on Linux was too much of a hassle and then since I was running linux in a virtual box it fell apart.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromImprovements Have Been MadeI have been using Windows since Windows 95 was the norm. Overall I have like using Windows and they have been getting better overall as time has passed. This is probably one of the better OS made by them and I generally think its user friendly for anyone who has some general knowledge of how computers work. It's still Windows but it has some good qualities.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromEasy to use and a free upgrade!I finally switched to Windows 8.1 with the construction of my new system. It's better than I expected and the coming upgrade to Windows 10 is a big plus. The student price is also a great deal for the pro version.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromGreat OS. Love the simplicity.Love how easy things are to find and to move around. Everything about it makes sense and nothing seems "out of place" which makes it seem so fluid. Never had OS 8, but based off what everyone says this is the clear better option.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromGreat Experience, so far!I bought because of the Hype for Windows 10, but so far for Windows 8.1 Pro its been a blast. I'll say if they improve the UI (User Interface) it would not annoy many users pr confuse them.
