Ratings and reviews

Rated 4 out of5 by fromDecent for the priceGot this just a few days ago, so this is just initial findings. The laptop is fairly decent in build, looks pretty good. The keyboard seems a little bouncy, has what seems a little bump in the middle, similar to what people have reported on some mid to lower end Dell's and HP's. Speed seems fairly decent, though sometimes it gets a little slow because of the regular 5400 hard drive. As others have said, upgrade that to an SSD and this thing would be graet. But for the price, you are not buying for an SSD out of the box. My child has been playing Minecraft and Civ 5 mostly on this, and it runs both just fine. The screen is great, being a 1920 x 1080 (most other laptops in this price range are usually 1366 x 768). I did notice that with Google Chrome, the text seemed a little washed, but in all other prorgams it was fine, so that was a little strange. As others have mentioned, the battery life is not great. It is only a 2-cell battery, lasts about 2-3 hours depending on what you are doing. For me that is fine, as it is plugged into the AC almost all the time.Overall, if you can get this on sale, it is a good buy. Runs well, hard drive can be upgraded at some point for a speed boost.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromGreat Laptop for the price.I have been using this laptop for over a month now.The screen is a great 1080p matte display. The keyboard feels good to type on. The hard drive is a ST1000LM024 HN-M101MBB. A 5400rpm SATA2 hard drive which is upsetting that SATA3 is the newest interface. A SSD upgrade would be recommend for those demanding the best performance. The performance is fairly good for an AMD A10 processor. The battery life provides a few hours of use. Light gaming is good as well.I don't like the fact that there is no indicator for caps lock and num lock on. I have it set to beep once when I enabled or disabled those functions. Also a backlight keyboard would be useful in future models. If you want an affordable laptop for a cheap price with good performance. This laptop would be for you. I expect I will be able to get over 5 years with this laptop.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromReally good for priceimpressive; decent battery life, powerful processor, can play games on medium settings, fast, beautiful display. Webcam could be a lot better though. Don't buy if the only thing you're doing is skype calls.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromManufacturers limit the power of the CPU.The cpu is great but due to the fact that OEM limits the TDP of the cpu to 15W cripples the gaming performance as well other cpu intensive tasks. You cannot access the bios to change fan speeds, cpu power intake, ram frequency. It performs poorly compared to my laptop from 4 years ago. Check out CPU reviews before you make this purchase.
