Ratings and reviews

Rated 5 out of5 by fromGreat LaptopI am baffled by all the bad reviews for this laptop. I bought it about a year ago from the Microsoft store, and it has definitely served me extremely well. People refer to problems with the USB ports and the wifi. I don't recall having any issues with the wifi, but I do recall that one of the USB ports was not working perfectly out of the box. That being said, simple driver and OS updates fixed it and it has been perfect ever since.I do I.T support in my everyday life and I definitely don't consider having to update the OS or drivers a big problem at all. If you're not into computers much and the idea of having to update drivers makes you uncomfortable, then regardless of the laptop you buy, it's only a matter of time before a driver update is needed in order to fix w.e sound/network/keyboard/InsertPcComponent problem shows up.Besides that, it is light, portable and powerful for its purpose. The screen looks great and it doesn't overheat. If you're filthy rich, go ahead and buy a Lenovo yoga, but for the 99% of us who aren't, this would definitely do the job. You may have to do a couple driver updates out of the box, but that's not a red flag to me and that's not that surprising for a signature machine. It is also well built, my keyboard feels great and it still looks brand new and everything else about the hardware is good. The only thing is I wished it had a removable battery, besides that everything is A1 for me.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromReturning - Problem with wireless network adapterI bought this laptop today. And I to have experienced the same issue with the wireless network adapter. I spent almost 2 hours with two different tech support reps from Lenovo and still can't get it to work. I'm returning this tomorrow. Very disappointed with my experience.

Rated 3 out of5 by fromProblems out of the box, but ...I agree with the previous reviewer.I had Wifi problems out of the box.My wireless network adapter would work for a few seconds and then fail.In fact the Wireless Network adapter would disappear from the device manager.I would have to restart the laptop to restore Wifi functionality. After a restart Windows would report that the following error has occurred: "driver_power_state_failure"Lenovo tech support was not helpful. All they wanted me to do was install the Lenovo solution centre - exactly the kind of manufacturer installed software that I was trying to avoid by buying a Microsoft Signature Edition laptop. So - I went straight to the Intel site and used their tool to identify out-of-date drivers. After updating the wireless adapter driver (latest version = 18.40.0.9 as of April 8th, 2016) - then the Wifi worked perfectly! So now I have a working laptop! It took about 24 hrs from time of purchase to get here. But it works, it looks great, the high-res screen looks like a million bucks. Here's hoping it keeps working correctly.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromProblems right out of the boxThe wireless network adapter did not work right out of the box. Neither did the usb ports recognized anything plugged into it. It kept getting hung up at the restart screen (maybe windows fault). Finally an external wireless adapter worked after plugging it in the usb and hard resetting the pc. Even though I was able to do an OS update and driver updates, neither the usb ports nor the wireless adapter did not work. I lost 5 hours trying to fix this. I'm very disappointed that Microsoft would feature this low quality product in their store.
