FAQ

How do I renew my Office 365 Home or Personal subscription?

First, check your auto renew setting by signing in to www.office.com/myaccount. Look under "Payment and Billing" to see if automatic renewal is set to "On." If automatic renewal is set to "On," your subscription will renew automatically. If automatic renewal is set to "Off," go here and select the Office 365 version you want to renew.

Important note: Make sure that you use the same Microsoft account that you used when setting up your original subscription. Any time you have remaining will be automatically added to your existing subscription. If you use a different Microsoft account, you will be creating a new subscription.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromGood but one significant limitation that bugs me!I'm now into year 2 with MS Office 365 and for the most part, it's been great. I bought it on my work computer (BYOD) and now have it also loaded on a new Mac I bought for home. My only key problem is, as a power Excel user, I've found that the version provided, does not seem to handle some of the things Ive come to expect it to, when handling some data manipulation. With some research, the solution seems to come back that I need to install the 64bit version as well. But there are some limitations with that software and Macros? Not sure, but the bottomline is that the old installations of office 2013 seemed more powerful.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromUnbeatable offerI bought Office 365 a week ago and I'm totally happy with my decision. I installed it on my MacBook Pro, iPad, and Android phone (Nexus 4). Family members are next for the install. The 1TB cloud storage is perfect! Plus I can call to Eastern Europe and talk to friends for free 1 hour per month...sweet deal! Nothing beats this offer. I grew up using MS Office, so it is so convnient to have this across all platforms and it works seemlesly. I started using OneNote and actually thinking to quit Evernote Premium. Probably I will make the transition from google drive as well. I won't give up my Mac though, not just now. I might buy the Surface Pro 4, I'll see.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromKnow what you need! The office product is advertised as a software that can be installed on multiple devices. The reality is that the product is dependent on MS accounts, not devices. I originally purchased the version that was advertised as a single device. After I installled the product on my laptop, I discovered that I could net make it available to my spouse that has an a unique account on the same laptop. Fortunately, the MS customer service rep I spoke with was able to refunded my original purchase and all me the correct version that allows for 5 account holders. Couldn't be more happy!

Rated 4 out of5 by fromEasy and always up to date, economicalI've had Office 365 for a while. Before that we always had out-of-date office packages. Now I turn it on, and I always get all the latest features and bug fixes. Most importantly, I don't have to buy another software pack for the kids - one subscription can cover 3 or so devices so the kids do their school work on the most up-to-date Office version at no extra charge. Finally the integration with the 20+ GB cloud account is the easiest I've experienced. I will never lose files again. They should stop wasting money promoting the regular Office and put all the advertising into this. I think the benefits are poorly understood.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromHuge disappointmentBeen using Word since the DOS days and Office since whenever they started. Thought I'd "upgrade" my trusty '07 Office to the latest 365. No where did Microsoft explain that the newest version of Outlook might not work with all Exchange servers, NOR did they say anything about the suite being installed as an all-or-none proposition. Outlook 16 doesn't work with my company's Exchange server, therefore in order to access my email, I had to uninstall the entire suite to get my previous version of Outlook to work. With disc based suite's in the past, you could pick and choose what apps to install - not anymore. I have a the "latest and greatest" Office suite and it is completely useless to me - nice one Microsoft!

Rated 2 out of5 by fromconfusingbuying more than 1 set (i.e. more than 5 licenses needed) turned out to be very confusing when trying to add new PC's to the license. The activate and register web functions need to be reviewed and simplified and looked at with an experienced (read - older that 20 years) web user. A retired ex programmer/systems analyst/mgmt consultant who is internet/software literate - like me - should be asked to review the purchase/activate/register functions before too long or you will start to lose more customers to Open Office. Just my 2 cents worth.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromAccount management needs workLove the product (5 license for home) but hate the way you manage the licences. MS should make taking control of the account selectable - I have read lots of people complaining that the account is assigned to the first computer you install it on, that should be in big letters on the first install screen. I installed it on my daughter's puter when I upgraded her to 8.1... then I had to log in as her on my computer when I invited others or dealt with issues. This caused her to get warnings that someone was logged into her account. So be warned make sure your "administrator' or as we call them Dad... is the first license installed. Also I have installed it on 2 of my computers, using 2 licenses but because the user is the same I only got 1 Tb of OneDrive storage, not 2 Tb. I am about to complain about this. These are all install problems... the product is excellent.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromVery poorHorrible. Purchased to have on a new computer as the version I had on my old one was incompatible. Now I can't check emails through both computers...only 1 at time. Some emails go to one computer and some go to the other. tech said I would have to upgrade old computer in order for them to work together but that is ridiculous as how am I to know this is the case until I spend the money on a new program? If it doesnt work then I'm out that money. Its the same email address so why shouldn't it work whether its an old version or a new version? And majority of the time it is going to the old one and not the new one so how is an upgrade the solution? Would never purchase Microsoft again if I don't have to
