Rated 5 out of5 by fromGood battery lifeBattery Life: adds about 3-3.5 hours to surface pro with moderate useWeight: noticeable difference when you hold it up but it doesn't matter if you plan on throwing it in your backpackThickness: doubled the thickness of a type cover, overall thickness of surface pro and power cover is around the same as a typical ultra booktyping experience: same as type cover minus backlit keys when you use it on a desk, but due to a more rigid base it is easier to type on when using it on your laps

Rated 5 out of5 by fromExcellent ValueWorks great with my Surface Pro 2 and I now have an all day machine. I appreciate the standard QWERTY layout, especially the traditional location for the ENTER key.The built in battery makes the keyboard much more rigid and the typing experience that much more enjoyable. The benefits of the power cover far exceed any extra effort to contend with the extra weight and thickness from the built in batter. The power cover is my keyboard of choice as is my Surface Pro 2. Excellent quality, great value.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromWell worth the tradeoff in weightI am using the Power Cover with the Pro 2 - and have to say I am delighted with the extra longevity. Here's my typical use case: schlep the tablet with the Touch Cover 2 attached and work that way - but keep the Power Cover in my bag and attach as needed. Works fine. The only (small) quibble is, given the extra battery life, it would have been nice to have the same backlighting as on the Type Cover 2 - but that said, this is an awesome peripheral for the Surface Pro !

Rated 4 out of5 by fromIgnore the touchpad, and it's pretty goodKeyboard is great, the extra power is really useful but the touchpad is terrible. It's like using a one-button ball mouse (remember those?) on a carpet. The right button barely works at all, just try to ignore it completely and use the touchscreen or a mouse instead. If you can do that, this is a 4 star product. If you are reliant on the touchpad, then it's 1 or 2 stars at best.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromBetter than expected!I bought this cover to try to make up for the lack of battery life in the original Surface Pro. My power configuration was already tweaked to give me 6 or so hours of non-intensive use (internet browsing or word processing, mostly). Now, with the power cover, I'm getting 10ish hours of similar use (a little bit more, I think, but it's hard to tell this early on so I'm giving a conservative estimate). This fits the "up to" 70% boost to battery life almost exactly. Awesome! The way reviewers talk about this product, I had been led to believe that this cover weighs as much as a lead brick. I was pleased to find out how light this product actually is! Sure, it's heavier than Touch or Type Cover, but of course it is. The weight is unexpectedly non-intrusive (your mileage may vary - this is the opinion of somebody who doesn't think the Surface Pro is particularly heavy at all).A bit expensive...$200 is steep, but I'm glad to have it at just about any price!

Rated 5 out of5 by fromPower Keyboard is the SupremumI purchased the Power Keyboard from the MSFT.CA store earlier this fall. Before I even bought it I knew that it was the best complement to my Surface Pro 2 that I could buy because of the extra battery in the base of the Power Keyboard. I estimate that there is enough power in this new setup for a transatlantic flight.Something I might add is that MSFT has taken special care to include a Touchpad type mouse in this keyboard. While some of you may prefer a Bluetooth mouse, and frankly so do I, Bluetooth is not guaranteed to work in an airplane. So you really need the Touchpad that comes with the Power Keyboard. The question is what should you choose as a carrying case. I have not made up my mind about this yet, and I will not be flying until May 2015. I like the idea of something small and black. I don't want something that resembles a laptop case. But then again maybe I do not want something that goes in another bag that gets deemed to be under carry luggage on the flight. The jury is out. I will get back to you.
