Ratings and reviews

Rated 1 out of5 by fromStay away - Nooooo GoooodI recently purchased 3 laptops with Win10. All of them responded very slow and constantly crashing( BLUE SCREEN). All 3 are gaming machines with the latest i-7 top processors, dedicated video cards and 16 GB RAM DDR4 .... this windows makes them work like they have been manufactured in stone age. Two of them - HP returned already - don't have any nerve left and time to spend hours and hours with tech support. 3rd one ASUS I will keep, but will have to install Win 7 64bit to make it run smoothly. Non of my software works OK with the new windows even after all drivers are updated with the latest....I totally gave up....sorry but cant take this anymore.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromnot sureI did the free upgrade to my laptop last summer and up until a couple of months ago and everything seemed to be ok, but sometime around Christmas I lost all the features that come with W10. Computer acts like the W7 I had been using even though the system info says it has W10. The W10 start button and menu are gone, I can only access start menu via right click and then it looks more like W7 start menu. No Cortana, but not an issue as it didn't work to begin with. Edge was glitchy, but disappeared with everything else. Went back to using Internet Explorer, so again, not a problem. All this and more, and it is too bad, because I was actually beginning to like W10.

Rated 3 out of5 by fromBuggy-needs to get the quirks worked out.I liked that I could upgrade all my computers to Windows 10 nearly at once, but I was a little cautious because Microsoft has a reputation for having some Windows releases being not very good. Windows 7 is very stable and a good system, however, I am finding Windows 10 to be buggy and needing some details ironed out. The settings interface is obnoxious. It usually does not have the depth I need and end up just navigating back to Control Panel. I like the feel well enough, but just want bugs worked out. I built a computer at home and purchased Windows 10 for it to keep my experience consistent. I have to say, I did consider going back to Windows 7.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromSuperb in Every RespectWe have installed Win 10 on four high-end desktops and one large laptop - all upgrades from Win 8 or 7. We have more application software than anyone else we have compared with, some going back to early Win XP days. Compatibility has proved outstanding. Out of our vast installed inventory only two products had to be re-installed which took maybe 5 minutes. In over a year of use no glitches encountered. This OS is robust, intuitive and efficient in use - a pleasure to have. It would be interesting to know the details of situations where reviewers complain of compatibility issues as it is difficult to imagine how this could be.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromSwitching to MacI tried windows 10 upgrade and it crashed my laptop so I reformatted and went with Windows 10 and I'm now regretting it. I liked it at first but now my kids get locked out of their accounts and I have to delet them and start over. If I want to watch movies using my dvd drive I have to pay $13 for an app. I can at lest find free apps for my iPad to do things. The more and more I work with it and realize I need a new computer the more I am heading to switching to a Mac. Absolutely disappointed in Windows 10. I have my iPad for a tablet, I didn't need my laptop to turn into a tablet that I can't do things on when I want. Now my laptop is useless because it won't let me go back to Windows 7.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromExcellent. Robust, Fast and sleek on my tablet.I upgraded my tablet by using the 'Upgrade Now' button and my tablet was upgraded without problems. In my case, I did not update any drivers on my two year old Sony VAIO Tap 11 tablet before the upgrade. The upgrade was error free and my tablet boots fast, operates fast, without errors, and the look and feel is sleek and clean. All of my previous settings and files were maintained. I disabled all new notifications that I don't need, and I uninstalled the few unwanted apps that I don't need. Enabling 'Power Saver' improved my battery life without any noticeable loss of performance. I just started exploring Windows 10, but I am pleased with the upgrade - a noticeable improvement and rock solid. As for the broad and non-specific bad reviews - they are simply that.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromWindow 10 free upgrade - forget itI upgraded from Window 7 to 10. I totally regret doing that. I found it became more difficult using the Microsoft programs that have transferred, and I e preened have difficulty printing the attachment. I askedfor help on Cortana. E.g. How to remove screen background. The Cortana directed me to a site talking about how to do it on Window 7. Is there a free training session in your Window store for Window 10? I am considering to switch back to Window 7 and I am sorry to say that I cannot handle the new changes even tough I have used Window for 20 years.

Rated 2 out of5 by fromI hate Windows 10The reason I am so unhappy with this program is two fold. First of all I feel I was not given an option as far as upgrading to Windows 10. It has slowed my computer substantially, the mouse usage is jerky, my games board is messed up. I lost the APP desktop that filled my screen. Hate that the APPS appears down the side of the screen now. Something tells me there is a difference between the free upgrade and the one you have to pay for. I was happy with Windows 8. This present upgrade appeared by magic and I was given 59 seconds to respond. Not a happy consumer at all here!
