Ratings and reviews

Rated 5 out of5 by fromGraphics not quite there yet,but very immersiveI had said to myself I was not going to jump on the bandwagon for emerging technologies, but did anyways.I did know going into this that the graphic quality was not going to be perfect ..and it was not..but the immersion makes up for that.I use it a lot in Assetto Corsa,as I have a simrig and do a lot of online racing. The feel of actually been in the car is amazing...sense of speed..the situational awareness..just wow. Also for flying games..war thunder..just incredible...and also the tons of free demos and games is very good.If you can afford it..I'd say go for it..it's going to be a few years before the next graphic advances are going to make it even better

Rated 3 out of5 by fromGreat but...I have been using my HTC Vive for 2 weeks now. and altough the device itself can be lots of fun, there's not many real game for it. Most are pre-game demo or a few minutes to a few hours long game. The games quality is also childish most of the time with graphic from 1997 in quality, except in a few case case like "The Blu or Disney preview". As for the headset, the quality is good, but it's a bit heavy on the long run, it also require a bit of playing with it to get the best focus (without seeing the lens circle mark). The cable shoud be a bit longer to allow for large play area. the controler are intuitive and respond very well. If you purchase throught microsoft store you don't get any free game opposed to elsewere.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromVirtual reality is finally here!Have had my HTC Vive for a week now. It's everything I had hoped for and more. I was worried about how glasses would work with the headset - have had no issues at all. I will say that contacts give a better experience because of the way red/blue shift at different angles due to the optics of the lens on your glasses (people with thicker glasses know this well). Having said that, I still find the experience with glasses just fine. It's very interesting that even though the screens are inches from your eyes, you don't actually focus on them. I have to wear glasses (or contacts) or everything would be blurry. Distant objects (infinity) are not that clear. Objects close up to about ... say... 20 meters can have decent detail. Everything in view has a perceivable screen door effect due to the fact that there are in fact a limited number of pixels playing with your eyes. How bad is it - well, you will see everything with a bit of graininess. Keep in mind that you are constantly moving, and the brain will do it's own magic to blend things together. I suspect better AA or supersampling will help. Clarity is not real life, but this is first gen and will only get better. As for the experience, well, there is nothing like it. I've experience a sense of fear from heights while playing with SculprVR. Sweated from pulling a virtual bow and arrow in the Lab (haptic feedback is amazing). Stood in awe and amazement in Google Earth VR. It's like nothing you've ever experienced in a very good way, and I'm forever changed. I could go on for quite some time... VR is finally here. If you're worried about motion sickness, know that VR with room scale is the way to go. Absolutely no motion sickness whatsoever.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromThe FutureBeing from a time before calculator and using a brand new Commodore 64 at work I am truly excited that we have crossed this interactive 3D barrier. Being able to be in the environment is beyond cool and my wife loves the dog. Stop spending all your time killing zombies and smell the roses (with paint) as you walk around the garden you have created.
