Ratings and Reviews

Rated 4 out of5 by fromVery ImpressedI've had this Surface Pro 4 for about 3 weeks now and I am officially impressed. I previously had a separate tablet and a small notebook/laptop. This has replaced both so easily. The battery lasts for ages - certainly more than enough for a few meetings during the day and then a couple of hours work in the evening. The screen is crystal clear, the sound quality is very good and the pen makes note taking, sketching project ideas etc.. so simple. I bought the basic keyboard to go with it and again, very good. It even takes a 200gb Micro SD card as well.My wife wants one now so I'm probably going to upgrade to the Surface Book and let her have mine.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromGreat MachineI've had the SP4 for about 8 months now. There's no doubt that it's a fantastic machine. I have the core i5 128GB model and am a heavy business user which the machine stands up perfectly to. The pen input is awesome. My only light touch annoyances are that the overall build quality is not as high as my Surface Pro 3. I've had to send the device back once due to issues with the screen separating from the chassis, but if fairness Microsoft immediately replaced the machine with no arguments. Overall, I'm a massive fan of the latest Surface range and would highly recommend the Surface Pro 4 to anyone who needs a super light, highly versatile productivity powerhouse machine.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromGreat TabletPurchased the pro 4 after a lot of thought. It was a great deal of money to part with for what is, at the end of the day, a fancy tablet. Well, I took the plunge and purchased one. Best thing I've done for a long time. I you want a lap top, it is a lap top. If you want a tablet, then it is a tablet, nut with the power of the lap top.The only thing I think that Microsoft should think about is the power supply. Why do these manufacturers have to have a different power supply cable for each item the sell. Why can't they get together and make a standard cable to charge. That way the consumer wouldn't have a charger for all the different devices.Other than that, love it.

Rated 2 out of5 by fromMicrosoft has just missed the mark- get a laptop.I bought one of these on launch day, perhaps against my better judgement. The positives are well documented- I'll focus on the negatives I have experienced:1) Hard to turn on. You press the power.. nothing happens... then you wait.... and wait until just as you hit the power button again, it comes to life and you end up turning it off.2) Poor battery life- I get about 4 hours doing normal office document work and browsing.3) It could really use an LED indicator so you an tell if it is on/off or booting up/ needs charging.4)...that's just the power issues.... don't get me started on the drivers for windows hello, or Edge

Rated 5 out of5 by fromMakes me wonder why I ever had the alternative. Finally with Surface Pro 3 a tablet for creators and contributors rather than just another consumption device. Surface Pro 4 has been another leap ahead.Faster than anything else I've used, runs actual applications rather than just 'apps' and genuinely replaces my laptop.Whether multitasking Office 2016 or streaming from my Xbox One, this thing works like a dream. The pen is a joy, even better, this one erases, I can take handwritten notes, verbal notes, typed notes, grab content from within Edge and save or share, I've never felt so free, so enabled, so happy whilst working.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromA really bad experienceMy surface pro 4 is just over a week old .. Out of the box it was fine until 4 days later an update was installed .. There was no option like not now .. Since then Edge has been a nightmare ... I run the Internet chechecker .. Says all connected but it doesn't connect to the Internet 80% of the time ... Fed up rebooting & watching screen loading sprite spinning round to then say we can't connect .. No web no youtube .. Not much fun .. Edge has now stopped working altogether .. Now installed Chrome browser .. A lot more stable .. Ain't managed to connect with support .. Doing this on IPad ... Should have went for the Apple Ipad Pro ..

Rated 1 out of5 by fromVery Unreliable, Annoying Fan NoiseHave the SP4 i7 16GB RAM model since Nov 2015 and use it all day as a desktop PC and as a touchscreen tablet. I've applied all the firmware updates up to April 2016.Fan is very loud at full speed and hits full speed often with minimal CPU usage. It is on constantly at maximum speed when attached to two external monitors via the dock.Still doesn't work reliably with the official SP4 dock, regularly reboots trying to wake the screen when attached to one or two external monitors.Touchscreen randomly stops working requiring a reboot.Sleep issues seem to be resolved after the many firmware updates.I love the hardware but I cannot recommend this as it is just too noisy and unreliable to get serious work done. Avoid.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromIncredibly poor product. Had to get a refundHad to send it back for a refundThe whole device was faulty. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. I will list some examples: randomly shutting down, screen not turning on, keyboard not working, fan overheating when doing nothing, not sleeping so that the battery ran down when the device was meant to be asleep, not being able to connect to the internet anywhere due to network driver failures, graphics drivers failing, sound drivers failing, screen flickering when watching anything. I could go on and on and I only had it for three weeks. Good points: loved the surface pen, was great.
