Ratings and reviews

Rated 1 out of5 by fromLacks high quality output expected in todays appsDon't expect to buy the Pro version and get Pro results. This software will take your sharp, high quality video (such as the extremely popular GoPro or Garmin action camera video), and compress it well below acceptable results, giving you a blotchy, blocky, blurry, video. It crops video so you would think you could at least take a 4K video and get sharp, quality, 1080p. Nope. The developers don't seem to want to acknowledge the low quality output, giving the impression that they aren't experienced with even the most ameteur video shot for YouTube. You have absolutely NO CONTROL over compression / quality in this software. The most basic features of output and control in every "pro", or even "basic",versions of video software are missing. Also, due to these unusable results, the software is overpriced and disappointing. Maybe someone's Aunt Jane could make a neato, tiny video for Facebook. However, she won't find or understand this software and probably doesn't own a GoPro. She also won't pay this much for what she sees as a simply a fast-forwarded video. There is a higher chance she would use the phone app. If they add quality video control and Pro results, they will have a market for this. Otherwise, it will not spread on social media and by word of mouth. The lack of sales will result in the lack of updates and Microsoft will decide to abandon the project. It's a shame; it could be cool.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromUnsurpassed stabilization, but improvements neededIt is by far the best stabilization software ever written, at least for forward moving video.Nevertheless, much of the visual quality of the video is lost in the conversion, and I'm not sure that a parameter to choose bitrate would be enough to solve this problem. Even if output is not of professional quality, stabilization is impressive for unpretentious videos. It is commendable that Microsoft is supporting the development of computational photography. However, the software seems to be overpriced for it's current stage of development. Some cons:- The suppression of the sound even when the video is saved in the original speed is not acceptable.- If you save the project for later use, and the original video is not in the same location any more, there's no way to select the new location, and will have to do all work again.

Rated 2 out of5 by fromNeeds WorkOutput resolution too low. Significant artifacting. Should have finishing task feature enabling auto shutdown after project completion.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromeasy to use, stunning results!I used it to speed up boring and too long GoPro movies and created a good looking video which looks like I would fly along my path. Every now and then we find a little shivering in the picture, but this is not critical. The overall impression is excellent. Great work!

Rated 5 out of5 by fromPlayd with it but yet to use in a projectI purchased Hyperlapse Pro and have played with it several time with some clips I have. The project I have in mind wont be doable for some time yet so this is a bit of as premature review... With the clips I practiced on to see how it works I was quite impressed with the smoothness of the final clip and the removal of, for lack of better words, camera shake and wavering center point. The project I have in mind are some of the curvy mountain back roads in fall plumage and I think Hyperlapse Pro will give me a smooth glide through the colorful forest.
