Ratings and reviews

Rated 5 out of5 by fromVery good phoneI bought my Lumia 950 a few days ago, had only one slight problem with the software as I was downloading some files, installing apps and the update at he same time, I restored it to factory defaults and finished the update before installing any app and it works perfectly now. The camera is far better than any other camera I've tried in a smartphone, much better than iPhones, the specs and extras are very good, the screen as a perfect image with the perfect brightness. It still lacks on apps availability but Windows Phone is still a young entry in the market and it has the potential to be at the top of the ranking. I'm going to stick with Windows Phone.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromSo underated! So good!Ok, I know it, I'm odd, but I guess you are too if you're here, but I love my Windows Phone! This is my forth after 820, 735 and 650. A phone for me is a tool, an object to aid my day. The 950 excels and getting on with the job. It is notably more powerful than the 650 and hardly much bigger. The screen is fantastic, photo like resolution and the camera and lens are outstanding. The HDR functionality means you can take pictures in the dark without a flash and still capture all the detail. As for apps, well it has what I need and I have tablets for other apps but I really don't use many. Bring on the surface phone!

Rated 4 out of5 by fromAll round great high-end LumiaSlim, light, AMAZING quality screen! Windows Hello (unlock the phone via iris scanner) is accurate, reliable, and a wonderfully unique feature to show off.Having been slightly disappointed with my previous Lumia (930) due to it being heavy and bulky (despite lacking sd card support, glance screen, or interchangeable back covers), I'm happy to say that this Lumia 950 corrects all the mistakes of the Lumia 930. My only one gripe would be with the Windows 10 Mobile OS - which isn't as snappy and responsive as Windows Phone 8.1, and at time of writing still contains a number of minor bugs and some less than complete features.I've no doubt that Windows 10 Mobile will improve with time (Windows Phone 8 certainly did!). Overall, I highly recommend this phone.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromGreat features, love the operating system !I've been using this for about 2 months now and love it. The operating is fantastic, I would recommend starting afresh rather than restoring an old set up as this will install all your old photo's on your phone when you've probably already got them on your OneDrive anyway. Let the phone settle down and install everything, update itself etc. You will then get a really quick reliable phone with excellent battery life and a brilliant camera ! .... just store everything on OneDrive, this makes life simple when going from phone to P.C to Xbox etc !

Rated 4 out of5 by fromVery Good IndeedThe phone itself is excellent. The screen quality is outstanding. I have found the battery life to be more than adequate. It lasts several days on standby, even with wifi and bluetooth enabled, and I experienced none of the problems other reviewers documented. The consistency betwenn Windows Phone and Windows 10 is a huge plus for me - I really don't like Android. The only reason for not rating it 5 stars is that the iris recognition does not work for me. It's still in beta though, so if that gets fixed eventually I would definitely rate the phone 5 stars, especially at the current price.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromOne minor blip, but otherwise a great phoneI've had Windows phones for a while now, and this is far quicker and better than the others.Only minor issue is that you need to do the update before you sign into your Microsoft account. The update resolves the battery issues and overheating problems. I agree it should be done before you get it out of the box, but sometimes you want it straight away and there will be minor problems.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromAwesome phoneOnly function that is not working fully as I thought is Iris scanner. Sometimes I have to pick up the phone to the eye level so it would recognize me. 99% of the time it works perfectly, and maybe it just needs some more "training" from my side. Camera is great, so is the sound (I can clearly hear difference on headphones and car audio between this phone and my last phone). Windows Phone 10 suits me well, I did not have any problems with lack of apps or the system itself. I like that you can write feedback or submit a bug in basically any view/app. I would recommend that phone to everyone.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromLove it - particularly since software updateAwesome phone - really getting on well with it. Software update did fix little bugs as it initially got stuck on updates which ran the battery very quickly - all sorted now though and awesome.Windows 10 UI is nicer than W8 and the settings app in particular is much more user friendly. As is the notifications bar which can be fully customised and expanded like the settings charm on the desktop version of windows 10.
