Rated 1 out of5 by fromMany glitches, especially with external monitorsSurface Book with Surface Dock: first one I had was hugely problematic with recognizing external monitors and USB devices. Replaced it at the Microsoft Store (excellent service) and now much better, but still can't recognize a new Dell external monitor after Sleep mode. I have to hard power reboot the dock (i.e. unplug it) to get it to recognize the external screen. You've got the makings of an amazing system here, Microsoft, but no matter how cool it is when it works, the continuous stream of little bugs like this really undermines it...

Rated 5 out of5 by fromWorth the wait from the Microsoft EngineersWas able to get docking stations for the Surface Pro 3's when I purchased them but our one Surface Pro 2 user I could not get one until now. Thanks Microsoft for finally creating one for the Surface Pro 2:>)

Rated 1 out of5 by fromMini display port on docking station does not workThere are now several threads on several websites. If you have hopes of running 2 external monitors, note that the Mini-DP on the surface itself works fine, but the Mini-DP on the docking station will not work. I hope Microsoft resolves this issue soon.

Rated 2 out of5 by fromNot bad but...I have to say that I agree with many other users about the lack of ports for monitors and USB 3.Moreover, I miss the fact that the USB ports don't charge when the Surface Pro isn't docked. Not even one in the power supply.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromusb 3.0 hd supportI researched further to find that if you use one of the usb 3.0 external drives suggested as compatible by Microsoft and update your surface to the latest firmware - everything works as expected! I now have the faster transfer speeds - an external touchscreen plus a handy stand with extra usb 2.0 ports for the surface pro. My older post comments are retracted.

Rated 2 out of5 by fromusb 3.0 port useless for usb 3.0 devicesPurchased several months ago, never have been able to plug a usb 3.0 hard drive(which works fine if plugged directly into usb 3.0 on surface itself) into the usb 3.0 port on the hub for higher transfers - usb 2.0 devices work fine - It's been several months later with many updates by Microsoft claiming to have solved the issue, however still no support for usb 3.0 drives on the dock. I have simply attached to one of the 2.0 ports - maybe someday they will figure it out!

Rated 4 out of5 by fromSurface Docking StationI had a problem buying this in the UK and was able to purchase it in Best Buy in the US, why?? It works very well and I love my Surface 1. I am looking to replace it with a new one in the new year. I think the docking station should be 'pushed' more for the workplace as it fits the requirements for Health & Safety when attached to a keyboard and big screen.
