Rated 5 out of5 by fromVery Happy With Purchase, But Some CaveatsI bought this unit pretty much because it was a great deal on the Microsoft Store and I wanted a new PC with no bloatware. I admit to perhaps wanting more memory than 8gb and also wanting the pure M.2 SSD version. Asus does make other models, but at the time of this review they were not available on this website. Still, I do not regret my purchase at all as explained below.Several people have asked the same question repeatedly about the 8gb memory and whether is can be upgraded. I did some research and was reassured that 8gb is more than sufficient for most people unless you have some exceptional requirements. I have no issues there but if you need more than 8gb this unit is not upgradeable. It is as sealed as you can make an all-in-one unit. Do some research about your genuine memory needs first, and I think you will find in most cases more than 8gb is unnecessary. In the same way I just got realistic about me needs as regards a hard drive, and spec envy aside a pure SSD drive did not realistically seem to offer a real difference given my requirements. The hybrid drive included with this unit boots from cold start to usable Win10 in about 20 seconds, far faster than anything I have ever experienced. In actual use the unit is great and these two compromises on my part meant getting a really nice PC for a reasonable price. Here is the part almost nobody is going to tell you about. 4K screens are a wonder to behold. Photo realistic to look at and this is a real selling point on this PC. However, in native resolution everything, print, icons, etc. although sharp as can be are too small to be practical for most people. Win10 has a vastly improved scaling system that solves this to a large degree, and you can run everything at the recommended 200% or in my case 175% scaling and still have everything sharp as a tack but larger.Except software not designed with 4K and scaling in mind. New software is catching up fast, but if you have old apps you may have a problem. Ironically, I can do everything I need to do these days on a tablet but I still need a PC to build websites. There is nothing powerful enough for a tablet and for me Microsoft Expression does everything I need, and it is even free now. However, it is an old app and no longer being updated. It uses a proprietary engine for rendering html pages, and while the app itself scales nicely, the rendered pages displayed in it do not. I tried every conceivable combination of fixes possible to no avail. Being stubborn, I finally installed VirtualBox and Windows 7 and run Expression with no problems on my new ASUS under that environment. Long story short old apps may scale improperly and be hard to use under 4K resolutions. Worst case follow my lead in a last case fix or consider 1080P displays instead. I would still go 4K personally now that I know I have a work around. That is because so many apps and especially anything photo and media related just look gorgeous on this machine. It may not have HDMI in but just run Netflix or other similar apps and watch TV and movies with no problem. The sound quality of the inbuilt speakers is exceptional also given the limitations of all in one models. If you know that 8gb is enough for you and that you can do without the latest in SSD technology, and understand the caveats with 4K displays that I just explained, then this is a wonderful PC and a unit you can how off to your Mac friends. Yes, it may be a copycat but it is a beautiful copycat and I am very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromStylish Windows PCI bought this great machine three weeks ago. It had some problems with updating video driver but issue was quickly resolved by calling to Microsoft support rep and following his directions. Fast, high quality speakers, quite, and stylish looking PC. Thank you Asus!

Rated 4 out of5 by fromGreat desktop, horrible accessoriesI purchased this in April 2016 and so far have been very impressed, the machine itself is glorious, yes it's an unashamed copy of the iMac but if you're going to copy, might as well do it from the best.As mentioned above the 4k screen does have it's issues with older applications, the result being that buttons/tick boxes appear tiny because they don't scale correctly, but i can't fault the machine for that. Performance is very good the hybrid drive sits exactly where i expected, so somewhere between an SSD and an HDD, i would have preferred a pure 256/512 SSD but it's difficult to find any all in one with that option that's not north of $2k.The i7 CPU as expected is a strong workhorse and 8GB RAM is more than sufficient so the overall score for the machine itself is a resounding 5/5.I did knock off a star for the quality of the keyboard and particularly the mouse, you would have thought that if you're going for that Apple quality you'd extend it to the accessories. Unfortunately Asus bundled it with a mouse that's straight out of its bargain bin, the kind of device i expect with the cheapest desktop they sell, not one of their most expensive. The keyboard is slightly better but again very cheap plastic and not a great experience, it doesn't even come with batteries which was especially annoying, having to run around trying to find AAA batteries for the keyboard to actually use my very expensive desktop. So overall i would definitely buy again, if you can pick it up on sale and use the money saved to buy a quality keyboard/mouse then even better.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromAll your needJust had the computer for the last 30 days. It is simply all you need: fast, all-in-one, sleek, and features for the future (Intel camera) and looks great on top of all. Of course you can always want more but if your are an average user this will be more than enough for years to come.
