Ratings and reviews

Rated 1 out of5 by fromTouchscreen problemsI decided to spend the extra money for two new laptops on Christmas eve before all the reviews were posted regarding the touchscreen. As another reviewer pointed out, the laptop is very light and compact (great for commuting and other travel) BUT having to go to device manager to disable then enable the touchscreen every time it is opened and after sleeping for a bit, is very annoying. Although purchased at the Microsoft store only one employee, one time, was able to give me the work around. Exchanging the laptop did not work; same problem, and now too late for a refund. Was told in January a fix was coming yet it is now May and no fix yet.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromnice laptop but buggy touchscreen driverExcellent value for money, very solid and lightweight and with great screen. Overall I am happy about the product. It is unfortunate (but I knew it in advance) that there is only a micro hdmi port instead of a regular one; the connector (all micro hdmi, not just this one) is too fragile to sustain the weight of typical HDMI cables.Another annoyance so far is that the touchscreen does not resume properly after a long sleep, requiring manually disabling and re-enabling the driver through the control panel. OS upgrades did not fix the problem so far. This is something i would not expect from a "signature edition" device.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromGreat LaptopJust had it for over one week and impressed so far. I was worried after reading the reviews regarding the touchscreen issue disables after sleep mode. I went ahead anyway with my purchase since I really was not that interested in that feature. I chose that model for the QHD glossy screen vs the matte screen. Very pleased. Compact, sleek, light and love the quiet processor that does not run hot - a true "lap"top. This is my first Signature device and I would highly recommend - enhanced experience right out of the box.

Rated 3 out of5 by fromTouchscreen problemsAfter much research I decide that this was the best laptop for the money. Bought the first one from Microsoft.com and returned it after the touchscreen stopped working after a long sleep cycle. Bought the second from the Microsoft store. Same problem with the touchscreen. No-one at the Microsoft store had heard of the problem and after two calls to Asus support and applying their suggested updates and possible fixes, the problem still existed. Since this issue seemed to be only tied to the sleep cycle, I changed all the sleep settings to hibernate and the touchscreen stayed alive. Not the best solution since it slows screen recovery but at least the touchscreen lives. Very nice machine and have decided to keep it but can't believe Asus has no fix for this.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromAlmost perfect but for 2 flawsI bought this for school and it works really well. Very fast and light to carry around. Don't buy if you plan to play games on this computer ( I mean large games) BUt for everyday use and even 4K movies, it works just fine. The flaws: 1, the touch screen will not wake up after a long sleep. You have to manually turn on the touch screen driver ( under driver manager, human interface device)I believe this is a bug.2, THe power button is placed right next to the "delete" key and "power" key. I have to disable the power button cause I am afraid I will accidentally shut down the PC while working on something important

Rated 3 out of5 by fromGreat Product, One FlawThis laptop delivers everything. Its basically the thinnest and lightest you can get, it has no moving parts, and with the SSD and m3 processor you won't be lagging. On top, this version's touch screen and UHD display is awesome. The only things I wouldn't buy this laptop for is if you intend to use power-hungry applications like CAD software, video design, gaming, etc.Unfortunately, one of the preinstalled drivers for the touch interface on the UHD display has a glitch and stops working after a few hours of being on. It is EXTREMELY ANNOYING!Besides this big flaw, this laptop is just as good, if not better, than all other ultrabooks in the market right now - let alone being cheaper than all the others as well. If you can get over the driver problem, it's well worth the money. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromLight and Sexy Laptop - Great Value (but...)This is a terrific value for an ultra-portable laptop. Thin, light and hundreds less than most competing Windows 10 ultra-portables. I think the 3200x1800 resolution is overkill on a 13.3" screen, but even at 9120x1080, the display is gorgeous with wide viewing perspectives. The 256 GB SSD boots up quickly and wakes from sleep almost as quickly as my iPad. The performance of this computer blows away my iPad Air 2's performance, particularly with media-rich web browsing and would make it my first choice for some quick web surfing or checking email because the touchscreen capability to open links, windows and emails feature more or less matches the same function of a tablet computer. Now for the "but..."Apparently, there are USB driver issues with this (and to be fair, other) laptop. After sleeping for a period of a couple hours or so, the touchscreen simply stops working. Opening up the Device Manager/Human Interface Devices reveals the culprit. One of the I2C HID Devices does not play well with Windows power saving settings for USB devices and the driver will not "wake back up." The temporary fix is to disable and then re-enable the device, but it has to be reapplied most times the laptop sleeps for an extended period. I have tried some suggested adjustments to the advance power settings to disable power-saving for USB devices, but these don't work. If anyone has an idea how to fix this, please post it to the Asus support forums, because I found no mention of the issue.I would still recommend this laptop, because I am confident the issue will be resolved in the near future unless you (or the recipient of this laptop) are not comfortable with digging around in the Control Panel or Device Manager.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromTouchscreen fixPress and hold ESC on power up to enter setup and turn off VT-d to fix touchscreen disabled after hibernation problem.Very nice laptop. The M3 CPU is a bit slow. Deducted one star because the touchpad is not a precision touchpad; the SmartGesture software sometimes missed tap immediately after pointer movement.
