Ratings and reviews

Rated 4 out of5 by fromMy new personal phone - complement my corporate phI have had this device for a week after about 18 months on the Lumia 635. Though the Lumia 635 was good and very reliable--even for international travel, I prefer this device. If I switch to anything, it would be the Microsoft Lumia 650--just because the 5" display might be more favorable to my eyes. This Acer m330 is a good device, and I would be very happy carrying this for at least a year.I was looking for a secure, effective, low cost solution that I could take to any of the GSM carriers. This certainly fits the need. Battery life is fine for me. Voice and call quality seems fine so far. I'm impressed that the speech recognition works as well as it does. Swipe-style entry works very well too.Touch screen behavior is a little bothersome to me if I'm careless. A little more patience is required here compared to the Microsoft Lumia 650. Enough to notice, but not a deal breaker.Photos are fine, but the jpg compression might be a little too heavy. I get more graininess than I would have expected. Perhaps I will learn how to adjust the jpg compression and all will be fine. The flash works well. Focus seems very accurate. The browser and all applications run faster on this device than the Lumia 635--significantly faster. That's very welcome. Outlook on Win 10 Mobile is a nice improvement over Win Phone 8.1--especially with the faster browser transitions and faster MS Office transitions. Groove works much better than Xbox Music on WP 8.1, especially for my interest in playlists. What's to be disappointed about versus the other guys? Less for me, perhaps. I don't need 10s of thousands of apps. I need effective apps. I appreciate the smooth Microsoft integration with Outlook, OneDrive, Calendar, People and Office. I'm appreciating Photos and Groove more too. That smooth integration is where Windows wins. Teens and young adults may say there may not be enough apps yet in the Windows 10 Mobile app store, but with several popular apps showing up recently, that may be a short-lived complaint. True, the mobile banking, airline and hotel apps may not be available yet, but the browser works fast enough and well enough that I don't worry about that too much. This is my personal phone that complements the corporate-provided phone that I'm required to carry most days. The other phone is very nice, but I need to have a personal phone that I can rely upon every day for non-work tasks. Twice, I've had international travel in the last 12 months where my Microsoft device's offline maps worked better maps on non-Windows phones held by my traveling companions. Trains, buses, walking, auto, autos going through a long tunnel... amazing! The maps capability on Windows Phone 8.1 was good and with Windows 10 Mobile it is still good.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromcondition good but not perfectphone operation very good, but received with a very small chip in the edge of the facing glass. I can live with it, but it is annoying. Otherwise satisfied with product. I do miss a few of the features of my previous windows phone 7.5 on the start menu.

Rated 2 out of5 by fromNeeds some workI was looking for a phone that roughly replicates my laptop function, games.... not this product yet. There are many features, that when full deployed will be very good, but many of the apps still need a lot of work or are not yet available on this platform. Screen sensitivity is an issue, sluggish overall.
