Ratings and reviews

Rated 5 out of5 by fromWorks Very WellI've put my laptop through the tests and it does everything I want it to do. It plays any game I throw at it at high settings. Massive storage and a beautiful screen. I couldn't be happier, and thanks to Microsoft for the great deal on such a powerful and well built machine. It's also really easy to upgrade and you can even add an M2 SSD while keeping the 1TB HDD. Also, for those that are interested this laptop boots up to my desktop in a total of about 15 seconds - SUPER QUICK! Windows 10 is the best windows based OS that I've used and it works so well. At first I was worried about the learning curve coming from an older version but this one is very intuitive and simple to learn. All in all it's an awesome laptop. :)

Rated 4 out of5 by fromA rocky start, but running smoothly nowI bought this computer 2 weeks ago as a birthday present for my spouse. There were problems out of the box with maintaining an internet connection via both wifi & Bluetooth. The only way I could get access was via a hardwire connection thru the ethernet port. I had to download & update the drivers for the wifi & Bluetooth before this issue was corrected. This involved a call to Dell support, where I was informed that this issue is not unknown to them.Since the connection issues have been resolved, things seem to be running well.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromBest Value Gaming LaptopI give this laptop 4 stars, because while I am not in love with it, it offers everything at a great value. Just do 2 things - upgrade the RAM and install a SSD. Those upgrades will add on about $150 to the cost of this laptop, but with those upgrades it's a top performer and is considerably less than the competition. It can run Gears of War 4 on high settings at 1080P. It can also handle it in 4K, but at about 20-25 fps.4K screen is great for Windows 10. For games, you will need to tone it down to 1080P to get decent framerates around 55-60 fps. This is my first DELL product, and I'm happy with it.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromThe headache was worth it.I carefully researched this laptop. After reading the specs on several comparable laptops I decided the 7559 was the best buy for the price. It had all the features I needed. I'm a screenwriter who occasionally plays a game. My gripe was the purchasing experience. The first computer didn't work at all. The good news is the sales and tech staff switched out the machine asap with no drama. I've had the 7559 for several days and it has surpassed expectations.

Rated 3 out of5 by fromGREAT COMPUTER-BUT FAILED OUT OF THE BOXI just bought this computer 5 days ago. I was looking very forward to this computer because of the specs of the computer and the components in this model. The computer that I received was unfortunately a Lemon out of the box and after set up. The computer had mega issues with regard to freezing up on switching accounts with another user sign in as well as freezing up closing apps and could not even power down-Had to manually shut down since the computer was frozen in time and would not move. I was able to do a quick exchange for a new same model computer and brought back the Lemon to the store. Hopefully the new computer after a long set up with updating BIOS and Drivers and setting up accounts this new computer hopefully will run smooth--- Will let you know with another review-

Rated 3 out of5 by fromGreat laptop for an Inspiron mod,but came damaged. The body looks and feels like Alienware from inside and this is great laptop with excellent configuration. But the display lasted only 10 minutes and it just stopped.Got it replaced with a new laptop and no issues so far. Throw any current generation game at it, just handles it perfect as you expect.I would say, the laptop I received first was just a faulty product, but wouldn't it have been nice if I wasn't shipped a faulty product in first place? You purchase a product with high expectations and anyone would be heart broken to see this happen to their brand new laptop.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromGreat mid-range Gaming Machineafter a month of useUHD Display – 3840x2160 very sharp with no light bleed-through. However, most console mode software still can’t handle 3840x2160. After lowering resolution to HD mode (1920x1080), games work better.NVIDIA GPU – Choose default GPU using NVIDIA Control Panel “Manage 3D Setting” or with a right click. Intel GPU is fine for web browsing. Install latest Intel generic video drivers to eliminate minor video glitches.Hard disk – System has empty space for an m.2 SSD (SATA mode, not PCI-Express mode) (22mm by 80mm).Access to innards – Easy!Touchpad – Works well. To disable Touchpad if have a mouse connected, turn off “Leave touchpad on when mouse is connected” in “Mouse and Touchpad” settings in Settings / Devices. Similar option to fully disable Touchpad in Control Panel / “Windows Mobility Center.”Keyboard – Works well, though key press travel is limited by chicklet style keyboard. WASD keys play games well. H and J keys get warm when gaming. Palm rest stays cool. Control FN multi-keys and key backlighting through Control Panel / “Windows Mobility Center.” Backlighting turns off when if you stop typing for a bit and then restarts when you resume typing.CPU Fan – System fans do not turn on, except when gaming or doing something complex. System fans are noticeable, but not harsh, but will drown out normal speaker volume. An SSD will cut fan use when browsing.Memory – Ships with one 8GB memory chip (single channel DDR3L 1600MHz) with an empty slot for another 8Gb chip (system max is 16GB total). Two chips make system notably faster.Webcam – Uses Win10 “Camera” applet. Pictures are grainy.Microphones – Poor. Picks up system hiss, even with “Dell Audio” settings.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromA great balance of value and power!I bought this computer after months of consideration and a good deal on Cyber Monday. An i7 HQ6700 2.6 Ghz, Nvidia GTX 960 4gig DDR5, 4K touchscreen and being Microsoft Signature made me click "Buy".Pros: All the above. Backlit keyboard, Miracast, comes with hybrid (8gig cache 5400 rpm HHD) 1TB SSD, all USB ports are 3.0, dual channel memory up to DDR3L1866 (once you add a second stick (comes with 8 gig of DDR3L1600)) and you can add a stick of M.2 SSD, doesn't look like a "gaming" laptop.Another great thing is that with one screw, you can open the bottom cover and access the hard drive, M2 slot, wireless adapter, battery, memory and clean the cooling fans. After installing updates, I was playing Bioshock Infinite at 4K on ultra, no sweat.Cons: I really have no real personal cons. Expect to do hours of updates to Windows 10 to get to the latest build. Some may not like that the casing is made with the "soft touch" vinyl coated plastic. Not DDR4 memory, but DDR3L 1866 is close enough for me. Minor light bleed at the bottom of the screen in a completely dark room. Only HDMI 1.4 out connector; no DVI or VGA out.Don't pay attention to any bad reviews; they are made by people who obviously have no clue!
