Ratings and reviews

Rated 5 out of5 by fromThe Best Windows phone made so far!I purchased this phone a week ago and I could not be happier. I bought it for work but I've since switched my Nexus 6 out as my daily driver. The web browser is so good I've found myself just pinning the web pages as tiles in the place of apps that are missing in the app store library. It's fast. The build is terrific. I'd buy it again.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromIts wonderful world of Windows 10 mobileI bought it knowing that the apps are limited even though the life is highly involved with apps. I am feeling that I have the best productive device. Even though I am little bit confused about my investment due to Microsoft's rumored non-commitment towards mobile and the evolution of ARM based windows 10 for mobile devices.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromBest phone ever!!!Love this phone. Looks and feels premium. Size is perfect, OS is smooth and super reliable. Have plenty of apps. Currently I have over 150 and use 8-10 on a regular basis. Can't get over how lucky I feel having this phone. Thank you HP for doing such a wonderful job. I also own the 640xl and 950xl, also amazing phones. This good them.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromThe best Mobile phone I've ever owned!I've been using Android phones for years and after upgrading all my PC's to Windows 10, I finally decided to ditch Android and get a Windows phone to compliment my Windows environment. This phone is a dream! Everything from the packaging, sturdy cabling, dock and the phone itself screams quality. From the built in B&O sound system to the gorgeous screen, the HP Elite x3 phone a work of art. I don't want to put it down!

Rated 4 out of5 by fromWell built deviceI've had the device for about a week. It is well put together. Continuum works well. The fingerprint reader is quick. There are a few drawbacks. I miss having a dedicated camera button on the device. I'm also disappointed that the phone doesn't support Microsoft Wallet. These are the only things holding this back from being a perfect device.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromThe best Windows mobile device I'd ever hadI'd been using Windows since Windows Phone 7 staring with Samsung focus, HTC, Focus S, HTC Titan, HTC 8X, Nokia Lumia 900, 920, 1020, Microsoft Lumia 640 xl, 950, and now the amazing HP Elite x3 a incredible phone, Windows mobile runs great on it. I was waiting for the surface phone but I think this is better than surface phone.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromElite X3 is big, bold, fast and beautiful !I bought this at my nearby Microsoft store, after not being happy enough with the remaining lumia's and not so sure about ASUS. The box it is packed in is huge, the phone really only needs less than a third of the size, especially as of the three compartments only the middle large one and one side with the phone had any content ! After unboxing, the selection of alternate caps onto the surprisingly heavy desk dock showed that I would not have any problems however I chose to use it, and putting a LAN Cable in the back for my home office set up was probably not so necessary as my home Wi-Fi is pretty good, but I had a cable that was lonely unless I was using my company laptop sometimes. Also, good by a few good micro USB cables as it is USB C for its power input. The Sim and memory card drawer needed a little persuasion to slide open, and the normal size SIM from my previous Samsung 8.1 Windows Ativ Neo was way bigger than the SIM slot, but my 64GB SD Card was fine in slot 2. So after updating the OS (the installed build out of the box did not include Windows Hello Update to use the fingerprint driver) and the updating of all my apps and recognizing my music, video and other content from the SD card was the main activity for my Saturday Evening. Everything that I expected was fine, and without a Digital video cable to one of the monitors the USB A for a mouse and keyboard were 100% able to control the machine, Some of my ringtones did not copy over, they may have been Samsung specific, and my alarms had to be set up and I found again the Cortana feature that allows for automatic quiet time to be invoked so I do not have the phone alerting me when I am sleeping unless certain contacts are let through.A trip to the AT&T Technical support center quickly resolved the need for a new SIM of the Nano - sized variety, and within minutes I was making and receiving calls. There is an additional setting that the technician may not have been aware of to enable cellular internet access, but that was not a major issue, seeing as this was obviously the first HP Elite 3X he had every seen !The super niche market this phone sits in meant that there were not much options other than online for a case, I prefer a pouch to fit over my belt at my hip, and as the phone is Gorilla Glass 3 and certified military quality, I will hope that the plastic and glass will not be damaged on most accidental drops and also it is water-resistant. Also, I will see how Continuum looks when I get the extra cable so that I can use one of my monitors from the dock. It would have been in use if it had HDMI rather than digital video as the video output from the dock. But it was sure good to use a mouse and keyboard, I did a quick edit on a word document that I had been working on my work and personal laptop in OneDrive, and synced up all my OneNote documents. Just was disappointed that I have not found a use for a stylus, I used to sometimes scratch freehand notes on my phone with Evernote and then went back to OneNote, and sometimes type in the soft keyboard on my previous phones, so I will further investigate where any drawing or stylus input may be possible.Actually using the phone for my kindle reader, MSN News, Flipboard, web browsing and my home security apps that are windows enabled was fine, and the display is so clear and I got to 40% battery during the day including some streaming videos, resetting app password access, and the Microsoft performance of not just a regular password but multi factor authentication to get some Microsoft apps to work or just register. Did not try the included earbud speakers, but it was no problem to connect to my Bluetooth headset or car. Yes, at nearly 6 inches it is pretty big, but I have fairly big hands so one-handed use is possible and not much more uncomfortable than the 4.5 inches of all the previous phones maximum size that I have had. One of the soft keyboards that it comes up with is a little small for my porky fingers, or perhaps it just seems so in the proportions, and it does not fill the full width of screen available. The B&O speakers are front facing and pretty neat and although top-heavy sound (not much bass range) it was pleasant and not tinny to listen to my eclectic range of music on the Groove app.
