Ratings and reviews

Rated 5 out of5 by fromThe Pavilion X2 12" 2016 smears the Surface! For the last 7, nearly 8 years, I have refrained from purchasing a PC due to the provisions here & there also my android phone admiration. I want to make this clear: based on my expertise across a myriad of OS's (Debian Linux, MS Windows, Mac OS, mobile devices since Palm/BB & etc.) the Pavilion X2 12" for 2016 is by far the superior Windows 2-in-1 for 2016. Other Core M3 variants can't dutifully satisfy the ergonomic constraints... otherwise known as "lapability". I purchased my device from the Microsoft Store (Signature Edition) & the only issue thus far is the "Intel Graphics Driver stopped responding" within MS Edge browser... When they fix that, I'll jump for joy! Thanks HP & Microsoft!

Rated 4 out of5 by fromNice Surface type PC with "real" keyboard.I only wanted to try this pc but it wasn't in stock at the MS store, so MS sent it to me, even though I told them I would send it back. This PC surprised me. It was a very responsive nice put together machine. The M3 processor played videos very good and even steamed and decoded my HDTV content from my online TV tuner flawlessly. I loved the 3/2 aspect ratio, the balance seem good, and the magnetic hinge latch is very strong. The only negative is no backlit keyboard. I sent it back because of that. I'm waiting to try the yoga 900s but for now this is near the top of my list,

Rated 5 out of5 by fromA surface but better.Bought this for school and have had no problems with it. Would like a keyboard backlight but otherwise extremely good. Bought this over the Surface Pro 4 because it has a better keyboard (that is actually free!) with the same specs as the Core M Surface Pro 4. Audio needs more bass but mids and highs are decent. Great product works well with no bloatware. Touchpad is alright and chiclet keyboard is actually very good with nice feedback. Screen is great but has scaling problems in programs like the Adobe suite (Like all other 1080p+ laptops). Definitely recommend over the base Surface if you don't need the pen as the keyboard is great and it still has the same specs, plus its cheaper. Needs another usb port and a full size HDMI instead of the Micro one but they are minor gripes. Great bang for buck here and definitely better than the MacBook.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromExtremely versatileGreat product. Was worried about the connectivity between tablet and the keyboard but haven't had any issues. Very light and its the perfect size; I browse the internet using just the tablet vertically and can type with my thumbs. The keyboard is a little flimsy but keeps it light weight feels good to type. A bit bummed, that its not powerful enough for gaming, but the portability is the reason I bought it. Speakers aren't as loud as I wished, but a heck of a lot better than other pc tablets out there. Great connectivity with my xbox one.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromGreat device!I have had this device for about a week and a half and I am loving it! I am beginning graduate school in June and wanted a new laptop and this seems like it will be a great one. I love all of the different modes you can use (laptop, tablet, presentation, etc.) and how well the device works. Its small and lightweight making it easy to carry around campus as well as great for notetaking. I would recommend this device!

Rated 5 out of5 by fromSuperb value! For the price, this thing can't be beat. But with low cost comes a few drawbacks, but let's start with the positive. More compact than expected. Lightweight. Detachable tablet. HD screen, decent CPU. Now the downside that come with the low price. 4GB RAM (the min I recommend), 128GB HDD (again, min recommended). So you get a good, basic machine that will run Win10 just fine for daily task and has good graphices. Finally, no backlit keyboard. But again, excellent, portable, functional basic (even mid-range) system.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromBest 2 in one for the price!I am very happy with the Hp Pavilion X2. It is a really nice machine. The screen is really beautiful. Everything looks clear and crisp. The touch screen responds nicely and is big enough for using as a laptop while the tablet is light enough to use as a tablet. The best feature of this device is the performance. The Core M processor seems to be extremely responsive. It doesn't have a fan so there is no distracting noise. The 4 gb ram and 128 GB SSD all work very well together. In fact I have a gaming laptop with a regular hard drive with 16gb memory and a faster processor yet this device seems in some ways faster. Battery life is good but I would like a little more. The build quality is decent at this price. The front plastic grill leaves something to be desired and the keyboard could be aluminum instead of plastic and backlit but again for the cost these are minor gripes.I think HP has put together a low cost 2 in one that cuts the right corners while offering what most people would want. Performance and screen are the two most important features and they are excellent in this device. The sound quality is also good. It is not great but it has front facing speakers and they have a good amount of volume. The design of the attachable keyboard is good. The magnetic hinge really works well and it is not a Bluetooth connection. The guides are plastic and not metal which means it does not scratch the tablet when connecting. The usb c connector is a nice bonus. I like not having to worry which side is up when I connect for charging. It has one full size USB port and one micro sd slot and one mini HDMI. It also has a charging light which changes color when charged. The power button and volume buttons work well.Overall this is a very nice 2 in one. The implementation of Windows 10 works really well. I was able to make a USB back up with no problem. I have had issues on other tablets making a USB back up. Also I reset the tablet just to make sure it works and had no problems. Software on this machine seems good. Updating driviers is a bit of a chore as there are a lot of them.I think for the money you would be hard pressed to find a better 2 in one. There really isn't anything missing from this device. Most of the other 2 in ones with a Core M processor cost a lot more and you aren't missing anything with this device. If you want something with a high end feel and are willing to pay for it then there are other choices you may want to look at. If you are budget minded but want a quality device that does not make any sacrifices where it counts this this is the 2 in one for you.HP really did a great job with this device!! I highly recommend it!

Rated 5 out of5 by fromEasy set up, fast and smoothHave been using this for a couple of weeks now, WOW. Have never been so impressed with a new computer, of which I have had workstations to laptops to tablets. Second purchase through Microsoft Store online, very efficient delivery. The processor is fast and extremely responsive. The touch screen is close to perfect. It is heavier with the keyboard attached, as would be expected. But the keyboard so far has been without issue when attached and has a solid yet responsive feel to it. In tablet mode, it is very light weight feeling, and a great 12 inch size. The tablet definitely gets warm feeling when sitting on your lap, but not overly so. The screen display and resolution are outstanding, very similar to the Surface Pro 4 we also have. Bought this for personal and business use in the cloud, and flawless so far. Haven't used it continuously for more than 5 hours, but have not gone below 45% battery use at that amount of time. Will update after a few more weeks of use. So far, exceeding my expectations.
