Ratings and reviews

Rated 4 out of5 by fromAmazing ValueThe four single-player story experiences featured in this collection are worth $60 all their own. Expect at least 8 hours of pure alien killing madness from each campaign with an enthralling story that will grab Halo fans both new and old. You will meet cool human and alien characters, explore exotic extraterrestrial worlds, and use an array of weaponry and vehicles that only the sci-fi medium can create. The multiplayer component that had a very rocky launch is now fully operational. You will be able to find a match in any of the four Halo multiplayer offerings within a minute and have a blast.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromLoving the Flash Back!I only play the campaigns and attempt the hardest levels of course. It was great to play through some old memories from my first Xbox and Halo was the first game I played and thought, wow, it they are all like this. I like what has been done especially on the graphics & cut scenes in Halo 2. I would like to see a final MC collection after all the Halo's are re-mastered, and maybe go back and really push the graphics on the first. It was nice to be able to switch between the new and old graphics and I think it was a masterful tribute. I also played ODST for the first time which is shown on the menu but I had to download from Microsoft. It all was just great. Shiny!

Rated 1 out of5 by fromI bought this to relive the glory daysI bought this on release day hoping to relive the glory days of highschool on halo 2 release night playing multiplayer for the first time all night. I took work off to attain these feelings to be greeted with a complete online multiplayer disappointment. My friends and I got online and couldn't even get into a party, let alone a matchmaking game. It's been 9 days since release and I still can't get into a matchmaking game. If I had known this I would have stayed at work and saved the money. I mean this is your pilot game, you think you would have been prepared for launch. Disapointed and beyond frustrated.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromNearing ineffability in a positive sense. The game in the Halo series I have played the least is likely Halo 2. Not because I didn't like it, but because I never directly owned it. With the MSC containing the first Halo which brings some of the best nostalgia in its remastered anniversary form. Halo 2 which is like a whole new chapter in the Halo experience for me. Halo 3 which is probably the best Halo I have played. Halo 4 which despite some reviews & opinions is packed with awesome additions from its Bungie to 343i switch. & the Halo 5 Beta, I would say a must have for any Halo fan but more so if for some strange reason you've never picked up a Halo game this is the game you need. I'm currently playing the story from start to end & will soon move on to the multiplayer. So far this game is proving to be more than what you expect to experience.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromCould be alot betterAt this point I have to say the graphics are awesome. If you like playing halo by yourself then this game rocks. But for most people I know, bought it to play with others. I personally like to play co-op campaign with my family. Ce and halo 2 are only 2 player co-op campaign would be nice if it was 4. Connection issues are so bad it really makes it difficult to even want to play the game. We must have played CE level 2, 15 times and still have not finished level due to connection issues. Then having to restart level from beginning every time makes it very frustrating. If they fix these issues the game would be great, but for now not worth my time

Rated 1 out of5 by fromPlease research before you purchase this gameI have been playing halo since the first one came out. I was pretty hardcore back in the xbc days and played every halo since. I absolutely love the series but this game was released half finished. We were promised updates that would fix it, well multiple updates later the game is still broken and it is almost impossible to group up with friends which is the definitive halo experience. I truly hope this game gets fixed and Microsoft + 343 learn from their mistakes and crack down on game launches. I'm returning my game now, I really hope it gets fixed as I will purchase it again.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromDo not buy!!!If you are focused on Multi-player please do not buy this game until you all of the bugs are fixed. This was so ridiculously frustrating. You cannot find a a game quickly. If get lucky and do find a game you will lose your party after your first game and have to start the very long matchmaking wait process over again. If you like to play with friends you may have issues trying to connect to your party / joining friends /sending invites / accepting invites. Overall a very frustrating multiplayer experience and do not buy this game until they fix it please. save yourself the anger and frustration. On the other hand I cannot wait until this game works because it will be a lot of fun.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromFive stars. No question. This was a huge undertaking on Microsoft's part in agreeing to bundle four Halo games (five if you count the newly released ODST) spanning two prior hardware generations for Xbox One owners on a system that was never designed to run these platinum selling adventures. It is unfortunate that these days, we're so quick to offend at the mere suggestion of anything less than utter perfection.I know most people have no clue about game development, but think about it like this: The result of years of effort and over a decade of entertainment is now on a disc for you to play in newly remastered HD at twice the frame rate, with an all-new score that was painstakingly crafted to further immerse you into a world that begets memes, comics, and probably a movie eventually. This disc or digital download, which represents well over $100 million in R&D since 2002, is not perfect. Is it striving to be perfect? You better believe it.Sit down with a single player campaign and relive the battles from Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, ODST, and Halo 4. Make note of the constant stream of enhancements and updates to further entertain and satisfy the most critical of critics. And when you get your bum handed to you by another 14 year-old in Slayer or barely limp past the finish line in whatever mission you're playing at 3am, stop whining and keep trying.
