Rated 3 out of5 by fromIt's has the goodsBy the time this game had come out I wasn't on Microsofts side. I was not expecting much and waited to buy the game. I heard so many criticisms from so many unbiased utubers that I knew it wasn't a story I wanted. The cool part is that I got more than expected, so for this I am grateful to all the haters. I don't use that word much either. I know many of those people were on the wagon of hate because they didn't like the t.v gimmick among some other small things. The powers were what really saved this. It has stron story, good graphics, and powers that make u feel like a boss. I played the whole way through. Maybe I will replay it some day making different choices! 3/5

Rated 5 out of5 by fromFinally, a game that's not all about shooting! Finally a game that is not about shooting and killing everything in sight for that sake of shooting!I enjoyed the game play but mostly liked the story and taking a break to watch the live action scenes. I wish there was an option to turn off the foul language, I think they could sell more games like this if we had a choice to turn it off or dial it back.Other than that I can’t wait for the sequel!

Rated 1 out of5 by fromBORINGI was so excited for this Xbox One title exclusive. In fact, I preordered it and I got Alan Wake as a bonus for doing so. First, the graphics. They are amazing, infact, this might be the best looking game on Xbox One. The game consists of several acts. After each act, you will watch a 20 somthing minute episode based on your decision in each act. The whole idea sounds brilliant and innovative, but the execution was so poor that I couldn't even finish the game. I never do that, no matter how bad a game may be, I usually tend to finish it just to see the final outcome. That wasn't the case here though. Starting from the very first few minutes of gameplay, I found my self bombarded by TONS of scripts, notes and e-mails that I had to read in order to get myself more emerged in the story. It was so overwhelming and boring. The controls were poor too that I found myself battling the CONTROLS and the CAMERA instead of the low AI enemies. It's so unsatisfying to be able to jump on specific objects but not on other ones that happen to be about the same or less height. The LINEAR game design is just outdated. The game had some mediocre puzzles that can wow you sometimes. Overall, the game tries too hard to shine. That being said, when it tries to do so, it never delivers.

Rated 3 out of5 by fromIn between gameI did like that this game broke free from the traditional shooters by trying to dive into a story that would be engaging and different. But with campaign play time being as short as it is, I would only recommend this to friends as a last resort or a filler till another game comes out. If you find it for cheap and not sure what else to play, this game will keep you entertained for awhile.
