Ratings and reviews

Rated 5 out of5 by fromVery comfortable, low profileMost of the time ergonomic keyboards are large, clunky, ugly affairs. This is a pleasant exception. The keyboard is cleanly designed and comfortable to use. The separated number pad is brilliant. The package has plenty of features without becoming complicated and obtuse. The thing I really love is the mouse. I have never in my life had a mouse that is more comfortable to use. As with most Microsoft mice it is accurate and consistent. It's shape did feel a bit odd when I first started using it, but after a very short amount of time other mice began to feel odd and uncomfortable in comparison.Great product, highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromGreat for the last two yearsI've used this keyboard for two years and I haven't had an issue yet. The battery issue with the numerical keypad came up once after around a year, I simply replaced the battery and not an issue again. The pad your hands lie on is very comfortable, but does show wear after heavy use. I'm not so worried about this since it's my keyboard not my trophy. Sometimes the num pad is next to the keyboard, sometimes I move it out of the way. I use it with a KVM for my mac and my PC, works without any issue. I will say this, I don't use the mouse. Not because it won't work but because I prefer my existing trackball.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromVery NiceBought mine today. I was replacing the older 6000 V2 (mouse was disintegrating). I am very happy with the keyboard, mouse, and even the detached keypad (it's like a separate calculator on your desk that you can slide away when not in use). The angle of the new keyboard is slightly different than the 6000, but I am getting used to it. I think it will eventually be more comfortable than the 6000 based on its feel. The quality and workmanship are excellent. Very classy looking device.I initally had some trouble getting the USB dongle to work with my IO Gear KVM, but after disabling the "mouse emulation" mode and plugging the dongle into the "Mouse" port of the KVM, it works perfectly, even using Remote Desktop. All in all, I would happily recommend this keyboard to others.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromGreat keyboard and mouse, one minor annoyanceReally like the overall design and ease of use the keyboard and mouse afford. The mouse took a little getting used to since it is much taller than a regular mouse. Keyboard has one minor annoyance that has bugged me twice now, the top keys keys (F1-F1, Esc, etc.) all can get stuck if not pressed squarely down. This can result in some really bizarre behavior from Windows if you don't realize one of the keys got stuck. ;-)

Rated 3 out of5 by fromAmazing keyboard except one major problemI want to say this is the best keyboard ever. I almost would. I had the Ergonomic 4000 and switched to this because of the smaller profile. I was so happy at first. Better keys. Magnetic attachments. The numpad can be pushed out of the way when not in use. I would have rated it five stars. Except the numpad completely ruins it. The numpad itself is fine. Does the job, and when not needed is out of the way. It's the battery. The numpad apparently never goes to sleep and burns the battery to dead in a month or less. The first time I was given a whole new keyboard because the numpad was dead (great service in that) But I suspected the battery. The next time I bought a new battery for it, and low and behold everything works. If Microsoft could figure out how to properly put the numpad to sleep so the battery would last (or maybe they're just using a cheap battery and should switch away) then this would be a 6 star (yes 6) review. If you absolutely don't ever need a numpad, it's a 5 star I'd recommend. If you need a numpad, stay away. I'll say I'd recommend the product... but tentatively.

Rated 4 out of5 by fromGreat Product but with a few notesI replaced my 4000 keyboard with his model and am thrilled. The keyboard angles are much better and the function keys are easier to use (I use them a lot for business). There are 2 items which I wish I could fix. 1 - I wish the keypad was connected like on the 4000, it slides around annoying. 2 - The mouse is huge (height) - I have frequently move my hand over in a hurry and not had it high enough and sent the mouse sliding across my desk. I have no idea why it is so large. The keyboard angles and adjustments are spot on.

Rated 3 out of5 by fromBest keyboard, most fragile irreplaceable dongleBest keyboard ever: comfortable, adjustable, quiet, portable, looks beautiful. The mouse is very very good too: big and fat. It would be helpful if the mouse keys were more programmable (you can program them but there are limits to what they can do). The concept of the keypad is great but in practice it's just quite-good. I like to hold it like a calculator when punching in numbers to Excel, or Skype for Business. But it could use a couple more buttons: = (equals) would be great, while open and close parentheses () would be nice. Hash (#) would be useful for Skype - you need it when you dial into most third party conferencing software. Right now I have to reach across to the keyboard whenever I need those keys, which spoils the experience. I have not had the battery problems others report: three months in the watch battery is still running fine. Here's the downside. As with all wireless non-bluetooth keyboards, the dongle is proprietary. And this one is massive - I don't know why Microsoft's are so big when others' are stumpy and discreet. So it sticks out my laptop well over an inch...or at least it did until this morning, when I caught and snapped it off. And apparently the dongle can't be replaced! So my beautiful keyboard are now paperweights. I'd prefer a Bluetooth set with no dongle (isn't this why Bluetooth was invented?) or at least a manufacturer who will sell me a replacement dongle for less than the price of a new set. It's hard not to feel let down, and I would give this product 5 stars if it still worked, but at this price it needs to last longer.
