The thin and light Touch Cover 2 is a pressure-sensitive backlit keyboard and protective cover in one.

Lightweight, razor-thin keyboard and cover

Innovative, 2.5 mm thin, pressure-sensitive keyboard responds to the touch of your fingertips. Twice as fast as onscreen typing. Smart enough to know when you are deliberately pressing a key, or just resting your hands. Doubles as a protective cover.

The keyboard is illuminated in low light, making it easy for you to use after the family (or the stranger sitting next to you in seat 37A) goes to sleep.

Smooth material repels moisture and dirt. To clean, simply wipe with a damp cloth.

Magnetic connection

Click in Touch Cover in an instant using a proprietary magnetic connection. To remove, simply pull Touch Cover away. There are no buttons or locks to get in the way.

Windows shortcuts

Navigate Windows easily with Windows shortcut keys. Built-in trackpad gives you the touchscreen experience, without ever having to take your hands off the keyboard.

Smart on/off

When Touch Cover is folded back like a magazine, keystrokes are automatically disabled to prevent accidental data input. To return to typing mode, just flip Touch Cover back into keyboard position. Close Touch Cover to shut off the display, preserving battery life and protecting your screen when you’re on the move.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromUnimpressedWas excited to get the Touch Cover 2 for my surface, but within a month of using it, some of the keys started refusing to work. Now it takes extreme pressure to get some of them to type. I didn't keep the original packaging and now have to try to figure out if I can return for a refund.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromUselessThere is no way to determine where the keys are or where they end/Begin on this cover. I keep pressing (well, touching) extra keys, the wrong kews or not pressing them at all (like the space bar and Alt or Ctrl keys). I've been using it as a spare for one month, could consider myself as a "heavy typer" and I would not buy such thing again! Can't wait for my Type cover to return from service!

Rated 3 out of5 by fromMarginally Better Than Original Touch CoverIts super sleek and portable, and more sensitive than the original. BUT there are two problems that make the touch cover 2 much harder for me to use which are the lack of raised keys and the typing sound cutting off every couple of minutes.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromgreat productI kept my original touch cover when getting the surface 2 and am very happy with it. Yes, you do have to get used to how you type but I have had no problems with frayed seams, touch pad etc, and I love that it's thin and protective, plus you can spill on it and clean up with sterile wipes. Its a cool product just like the surface!

Rated 1 out of5 by fromthis thing is AWFUL.I wish I could give it zero stars. I am a very efficient "typer" and i spend a good majority of my time back spacing and correcting errors because the keys are not sensitive enough. you have to press pretty firm and after typing a long email or other documents my fingers end up cramping, most specifically my pinkies.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromUnderwhelmed with the Poor QualityThe Surface Pro 2 tablet is amazing; however, the touch cover is a flop. I It made typing research papers a much longer task than it should be. The keys are not sensitive, as a result I would have to utilize spell check constantly. I had to purchase a $20 keyboard from my local electronic store to replace the touch cover. Also, the material of the touch cover collects dirt, especially on the touchpad area. It needs to be cleaned quite often (weekly/biweekly) to prevent it from turning black. This product in expensive but the quality is not there--->buyers remorse.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromExcellent, misunderstood product.I owned a Surface RT, and now a Surface 2. I used to have the old Touch Cover, and upgraded to the Touch Cover 2. It's an excellent product, but you have to know how to use it. The most important thing to do to work productively is to have your VOLUME ON so you get audio feedback as you type. This dramatically increases your speed and accuracy. Yes, it is slightly less convenient than using a physical 'click' keyboard, but it can be mastered very quickly, and the slim profile is unbeatable. It's also the best choice for your tablet when using simply as a cover. When you fold the cover back to read an e-book, for example, this touch cover is a far superior tactile experience to having moving keys in your hand. I absolutely love my Surface 2 and Touch Cover 2. I just hope they keep making the Touch Covers, since most users don't seem willing to make the leap. Also, the gestures (pinching, etc.) work great on my Touch Cover 2 touchpad + Surface 2, and also the instant sleep/on features when folding the cover back. For me, it's perfect. Big improvement over the 1st-generation touch cover, which was less accurate and also had flaws in the materials (edges would quickly fray).
