Overview

Watch Dogs for Xbox game character watching police car flipping

The city is your weapon

Chicago's overarching network is known as the Central Operating System (ctOS), and it controls almost all of the city's technology and information—including key data on all of the city's residents.

You play as Aiden Pearce, a brilliant hacker and former thug, whose criminal past led to a violent family tragedy. While seeking justice for those events, you'll monitor and hack those around you by manipulating the ctOS from the palm of your hand. You'll access omnipresent security cameras, download personal information to locate a target, control traffic lights and public transportation to stop the enemy, and more.

What the experts are saying

"It's perhaps the most believable open world game out there, and it's pretty damn fun to boot." — The Escapist

"Creative hacking and covert multiplayer modes bring exciting new life to otherwise familiar open-world man-shooting."
— PC Gamer

Manipulate the city

Using Aiden's smartphone, you have real-time control over the city's infrastructure. Trap your enemy in a 30-car pileup by controlling the traffic lights. Stop a train, and then board it to evade the authorities. Anything connected to the ctOS can become your weapon.

Ratings and reviews

Rated 5 out of5 by fromGreat Game Worth The MoneyI got this on thursday and its great so far. ill just list SOME pros and cons I've run into so farPros: Driving, Skill Tree, Ease of hacking, Betting games (Chess and Poker are my favorites), story line, pedestrian profile variety, shooting accuracy and the running and jumping is very fluid. I haven't lost a target or got stuck behind anything yetCons: Cannot shoot while driving, camera angles are weird sometimes while driving, when you first load up the game it takes forever, i declined around 50 online games and 1 of them got through out of nowhere im not sureThats all i can think of at the moment. Do not compare this to GTA. Watch some gameplay and see if you like it. Gameplay length- 21hours so far 26% completion. Mostly side missions and games. If you want all achievements it can probably be around 100 hours.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromAwesome GameI personally love Watch Dogs. The game play is more reminiscent of a recent Splinter Cell game than GTA (which Watch Dogs has been compared to due to its open world enviornment). It is varied with different side missions, the story is compelling, and it can be quite challenging at times. A+ Ubisoft, other than the almost 1 year delay in its release you have hit a home run in my book!

Rated 3 out of5 by fromgood side missions, but not a satisfying campaign!watch dogs is a pretty good game overall. It has good visuals, great ideas and tons of side missions along with mini games like poker, chess, drinking games etc.....but the core of the game wish is the campaign dissapoints, the storyline is a bit boring sometimes it doesnt make sense and the missions are exactly like the side missions nothing unique on the campaign. I had more fun playing the mini games than the actual main story, no aircraft missions, no deep diving in water and limited customization in wish you only buy clothing in full sets not individually and zero car customazation. If ubisoft announces watch dogs 2 ill pass and it would not make sense putting the same characters in the game it would have to be a different storyline since the campaign on this game is more than finish. My verdict a 3 out of 5 it could had been a masterpiece...

Rated 5 out of5 by fromIt was a blast to play!Yes, I played this five times! However, it could learn from Sleeping Dogs which was a much more interactive and designed game. Games seem to be losing quality and are being rushed for quick dollars.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromOutstanding all around gameI will confess I have not played to many open world action games. Watch Dogs was a blast to play. it allows you to take your time and do what you want as you want to. You can just run from main story line mission to mission or you can take your time and do some outstanding side missions that open up so many new weapons and tech to use in the game.I took my time and enjoy completing many side missions along with the main story line. and I have to say what every your play style is this game can be played your way. If you want to run and gun go for it if you want to be sneaky and use a lot of stealth that will work also. You style your pace your enjoyment are all there. There is a mulitiplayer part to the game which others can hack into your game. This is the one area I did not find fun. I could never find the hacker and that drove me crazy. Some missions had a bug in them but Ubisoft has been good at fixing them. I really enjoyed the game from start to finish and think many would enjoy it all so.I can not wait to see where they take this idea from here Watch Dogs 2 with be on my buy list I am certain of that.
