Ratings and reviews

Rated 1 out of5 by fromSAVE YOUR MONEY - These are terrible qualitySo when I got my controller, I really liked it. It has a nice weight, ceramic rings around the control sticks for smooth movement, etc. That said, after about 6 months of use, the left control stick started to register movement when I wasn't touching it. Think of playing a first person shooter, and watching your character walk slowly off a cliff and die. That's what started happening. The warranty is a mere 90 days...and there are no options for repair. So, if you're willing to buy two of these a year, this is for you. Otherwise, stick with the controllers that come with the console. They hold up better than the Elite controller.

Rated 2 out of5 by fromOnly 90 day warrantyThis controller has many issues if you play with it a lot. Just a tip if you play fps games. Use a paddle to sprint. If you continuously use the left stick button. It will get really sloppy in about 7-8 months. And be nearly unplayable. I've had my regular Xbox controller from when I bought my Xbox 2 years and and it doesn't have this problem. And it's half the price of the Xbox elite controller. Everything on the outside is stainless steel. But in the inside is some pretty cheap plastic. And that is where the issues come in. I do not recommend this controller to anyone that plays on a regular basis. Your controller will not even last a year if you do.

Rated 3 out of5 by fromAwesome features, poor quality issues. The good. The overall feel, and function of this controller is great. The button mapping will give the option of mapping any button to any paddle. The feel of the controls are better that any other controller I've used. The bad. After only 3 weeks of use the thumb sticks are already grinding a bit, and lift up from inside, just taking the magnetic buttons off is enough strength to lift them. I'm not saying it affects the functionality of it, but it's super annoying. I feel like it will only get worse. I'll give it another few weeks, and may return it. I hope this issue can be fixed, because it is the ultimate concept.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromVery Dissapointed!Broke after only 6 months of use.Right and left bumpers broke. The Left bumper actually fell out when I was playing a game. For the price you would expect the whole controller to be quality made but they went cheap on the bumpers and it shows.Bumpers are all plastic and are connected together in the middle and this is where the break is happening and then the buttons become extremely loose to where they will fall out or get jammed. Where as the original controllers that come with the console are independent and much more robust.Do a little research and you will find this is the weak point of the controller and there are many many accounts of the same problem.

Rated 5 out of5 by fromWorth the moneyPreordered this when I had a chance. Got it the on release day first thing in the morning, the ups man dropped it off at 9 am :) The controller is comfortable to hold its like butter. The paddles are a big plus and definitely can see them being utilized in games going forward. Comes with a super long USB cable which is pretty nifty to have. Changing out the the sticks and dpad is super easy and the paddles are just as easy to remove. By the way I totally dig the mutli directional dpad vs the original cross design. If you have the money, its definitely worth spending it. If you don't save up for it :)

Rated 2 out of5 by fromLove it. Expected it to last longer...Controller is fantastic. But after almost two months of use, the right thumb control is loose. I can flip the Elite over and then back and can hear the right thumb control click as it falls back into place. I can also pull up on the thumb stick itself and the entire thumb assembly will lift up. This is before the lifting force exceeds the magnet's pull and the thumb stick comes off. You don't see the left thumb control behaving the same way.I am the only person who uses this Elite. It has not been dropped. This issue is from everyday gaming use. I expected better quality given the price.

Rated 2 out of5 by fromAmazing controller while it works....The controller is amazing when working at 100%. Unfortunately like so many other people my controller randomly started breaking down. Only had it 8 months and it developed joystick drift and the LB button has gotten sticky. Never dropped it or anything, I treated it like a baby because it is so expensive. I also am not one that plays 12hrs per day. I only get to play a little in the evenings. I thought maybe it was just a random defect that happened to me and then realized nearly every review on amazon and on here says the same thing. Only 90day warranty so nothing I can do. Wanted to buy another so bad but too afraid it will fail again in under a year. Wont purchase unless I can get a minimum of 1 year warranty.

Rated 1 out of5 by fromWaste of MoneyI have had two reviews deleted by Microsoft so this one will be brief. The "elite" controller I received as a gift broke after four weeks. The left bumper broke. I exchanged that controller for another "elite" controller. The second new "elite" controller also broke after 4 weeks of use. Again the left bumper broke. Do not waste your money. I have a regular wireless Xbox controller that I have been using for a year and it works just fine. I loved the feel of the "elite", the customization, and the trigger stops but the build quality is terrible. A waste of money.
